He could do with putting on some size, he’s pretty light for a 200cm player at his age , 93kg I think.

Chol is really a tall forward who has been doubling in the ruck, but can be converted to a primary ruckman with training. He has a great leap and can get his hands above much taller ruckmen. Once he gets the technique right, he should be very good. What he offers around the ground makes him a superior candidate for the job in the NEW Swans.

I've been calling to expedite the inclusion of both Amartey and Knoll to the senior side, to get a glimpse of what's on offer within the current list. But even if they do get a few games, it's likely not to look as good as those with more experience on view, like Ladhams and Chol. But I'm very open to see what happens before making a call.

        Agree.

I've zero concerns about Tommy M. Seems to love it here and John is clearly an admirer.

            Positive article about Buddy:

            Category: | Herald Sun

Swans coach John Longmire said earlier this week that the aim was to play Franklin this season, even if it is only for a week or two... According to Franklin, he is nearing a return having participated in a number of main training sessions in Perth and is confident he will take the field again in the coming weeks.

“I’ve been working hard on my recovery and have been able to train in a few sessions with the boys,” said Franklin. “I’m building my fitness and hope to be back as soon as possible."

Have pick 3 in our hands again, nice in a gloomy season. Don't forget that our second pick moves up to 22 as well meaning more points to match the Campbell bid.

We’ve got a tough run home too, so I don’t imagine we move up from here. 3 almost certain losses ( Port, Lions and Cats) and 2 likely losses but we could maybe pinch ( Dees & Carlton ).

Braydon Preeuss easily won the hitouts for Melboune v Bulldogs, with Josh Dunkley taking the most ruck contests for WB. Despite this, the clearances were about even and WB won the game, dominating in the 2nd half.

There's more to this game than just the ruck contests, but it's another example in a litany of similar examples, where domination in the hitouts doesn't lead to midfield dominance. I like Bevo as a coach. He's willing to try alternative playing styles and doesn't just follow the crowd. It hasn't always worked out and sometimes looks foolish, but it's better than sticking to a plan that not working.

It will be interesting how we approach our ruck situation in the post season.

If we're looking for a ruckman to supplement the walking wounded, we'll probably poach someone from another club as usual. Our record at recruiting ruckmen via the draft or from zones is not that great. I cannot name a single ruckman we've recruited from the draft in the past 30 years who's played 200 games with us.

We could still end up with pick 2. Norf have got one or two winnable games to close out the season (their fixture: Collingwood, Gold Coast, Port, Fremantle, West Coast). Gold Coast and Fremantle are their best chances for wins and they could be in with a chance to knock off Collingwood tomorrow after losing to Brisbane by one point eight days ago.

I suspect we will need a few hundred points more in picks to avoid going into deficit next year. I am not optimistic about our chances in 2021, and I would prefer our first rounder next year to be untainted by deficit points.

From what I have seen we cant let the ball come into our backline quick and direct without Rampe........minimum

We have to to be able to move the opposition wide and or on the deck....... or cut it off at the centre otherwise we will just flood our backline like against Freeo and hang on for dear life
