As I said in my post, the best option would be trading for lower picks that other clubs won't be using anyway. I mentioned pick 21, but some of our future picks could also be offered.
Mentioning the splitting of pick 3 for two later picks was simply there to highlight what we would have to do if we did not trade for lower picks. It is not as good an option as loading up on later picks, but it is better than doing nothing.
The worst option would be doing nothing to address the lack of draft points, and then risking our position in the 2021 draft by going into the 2021 draft with a points deficit if both players are bid on by pick 15. After our 1st-round pick (currently 21), we have a total of 1305 draft points with our remaining picks (based on current ladder positions). If Campbell and Gulden are bid on at picks 14 and 15, we would be 500 points short. This is about the number of extra draft points I believe we need to secure.
