There are a couple of ruckmen whose contracts are not being renewed, Darcy Fort from Geelong who is a forward/ ruck and mature age and body. Didn't get a go at Geelong. Steph Martin is also out of contract with Lions and could be handy although in his early 30's. Both good tap ruckmen and agile around the ground, something Sinclair is not. Worth a look rather than Cox or Hickey.

I don't rate Cox at all as a forward and have little faith that he is any good in the ruck given the Pies have rarely played him there. In saying that I would have him a long way ahead of Hickey.

I don't want Cox either. From what I have seen he only performs twice a season.

Only deal involving Sydney was Tom Hickey.

Some talk that North might be open to trading Pick 2. I wonder if we could somehow go from 3 to 2. I can’t quite work out how we can but it would be nice especially if Logan McDonald can make it past Adelaide.

Only torn two huge finals apart.

Only plays well on the biggest stage in the biggest games.

If McDonald and Thilthorpe are gone, who’s our KPF?
Do you really thjnm they will both be gone by 3?

You’d think they would be looking for two later first round picks if they were willing to trade a pick 2.

Still a chance we could nab McDonald depending on how the Roos view their list needs, but if not him we take Hollands. Happy with either of those two. ( this is all based on Adelaide taking Tilthorpe, so even he is a possibility if Adelaide go for McDonald or Hollands ).

Far from certain Adelaide pick Thilthorpe, I reckon. Let’s hope so!

Apparently Harley told SEN this morning that we'd look at Paddy McCartin once list sizes are finalised.

I thought his comments on Paddy were luke warm. He was asked if Paddy had a medical with us and just brushed over it. He was more bullish on Hickey. I suspect he will come to us. Nothing else was mentioned about possible trades. Watson rattled on about Daniher and Papley from last year.

What was more relevant was his comments on Buddy, Heeney and Rampe. Buddy is in the gym working on strengthening before hitting the track soon, Rampe is fine and into his pre season running and Heeney is coming along nicely.

I think his comments on Paddy need to be lukewarm, otherwise other clubs will stand up and notice and we wouldn't get him cheaply.

I think its too risky. How would you feel if he's playing for us and something really awful happens due to a headknock?
