These managers deserve to get air time exactly because of what you say. They are the ones who have taken control of the system, so they have become the ones with the most information. It's for us to sort out what is propaganda and what is factual.
I don't think we should attribute too much of this chatter to Aliir himself, but rather to Paul Connor, who's creating a story line to extract the biggest contract for Aliir and biggest commission for himself. It's true that Aliir's value decreases when he plays away from his best position, because he looks pretty ordinary. With free agency on the horizon for him, of course he should want to play in a position the enhances his value the most.
If you're an accountant, but your boss has you cleaning the toilets, you wouldn't think it was helping your career development.
His defensive games have been mostly ordinary for a while . Even when he played forward he played fairly well. It’s ok if he wants to play down back full time but he needs to perform there or he becomes ‘moveable ‘. Yes, being moved around due to injuries doesn’t help his chances too much so it’s a bit of a catch 22. Doesn’t change the fact he’s probably been the one ‘thrown around’ at least in part due to his lack of consistently good performance in his preferred position.

The Trading Day commentators on Fox Footy are talking about AA as though he is heading to Port. Its important that we don't lose players just as they come into their prime years. We lost Zac Jones last year in that category. Will AA be the next? I hope not. He was in Adelaide today apparently.Comment

Letting Aliir go for pick 29...Which I guess = Hickey....
Aliir for Hickey.....Really really bad trade..
Please don't do it SwansWhenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

I hope we’ll say, if you want AA, you’ll have to hand over a ruckman and a pick. Take it or leave it. He’s a contracted player.Comment

If Peter Wright is on $500k pa as a forward ruckman
What do we suspect Hickey would want to come to the swans ?
86 goals from 66 games for 24yr old Peter Wright
I wonder if we enquired ?Last edited by ugg; 10 November 2020, 09:07 AM. Reason: Removed URL link as it’s causing issues on desktop browser"be tough, only when it gets tough"

I totally agree. If we lose AA and bring in Hickey, then our draft strategy is compromised again as it was with losing Jones. Going to the draft and building up the young brigade is useless if you lose them in their mid twenties. We need to keep AA. Otherwise, our draft strategy is like someone trying to fill a barrel with water using a sieve.Comment

Maybe we should just let all the players decide where they are going to play on the field. I'm sure they know best.Comment

Sad though I'll be if we lose Aliir, I would be satisfied with that trade. No way would only Hickey be sufficient. Hickey at age 29 or 30 or whatever it is, is just not worth pick 29.
Aliir can be a star but maybe he'll shine more somewhere else. We haven't quite been able to get the best out of him. That said, he hasn't reached his peak yet in my opinion. All opinions are not equal. Big news: Melican, Ling & Amartey given contracts! Melican 3 years, Ling & Amartey just 1 year deals.

So Thurlow, Foot, McLean (and Ronke?) still waiting. Who else? Can someone confirm we already re-signed Wicks please or is he also still waiting?
My memory is failing me - can someone please clarify who remains on the list without a contract at this stage? ThanksAll opinions are not equal.
