So how does that work, players contracts reduced by 3.5% but TPP by 9%. How do clubs get the other 5.5% reduction as just dropping a couple of lowly paid players won't do it.

You can use as many late junk picks as you like to pay for NGAs etc. This has Pies written all over it who currently have no picks to pay for McInnes who is tipped to go around pick 20. This may be a trade off for having the salary cap fire sale. Fat Chins doing fine work with the VFL for the benefit of the Pies.

Almost certain to be more pick swaps, our pick 31 for a number of 50s and 60s picks that will move up a around 9-10 places once JUH, Campbell and Jones are matched in the first half of the first round.

The wording on Matt Kennedy's move to Carlton's rookie list omits any form of the word delist:

CARLTON will retain hardened midfielder Matt Kennedy as a rookie next year, but has delisted four players as it continues to shape its list heading into season 2021.

The article goes on to say

Kennedy – who spent the recent Trade Period waiting to see if he would earn a contract extension depending on list sizes – will be retained, with Carlton confirming it would select the former first-round pick in the upcoming NAB AFL Rookie Draft.

You would think North Melbourne would be happy to pick up a player like Kennedy in the rookie draft, if they could. Maybe they can technically. I'm really not sure. But I've said before, it seems easy to move a player to the rookie list by doing just what Carlton has done. So I wouldn't fret about shifting players between lists.

Nothing revealing on the KB interview. I was disappointed that there weren't any questions regarding ET.

KB did say that Paddy McCartin was a consideration for a rookie spot, which would mean that we have to delist 1 more player. It was hard to judge how serious a consideration it was. Perhaps it depends on whether we get a KPP with pick 3.

*We are not looking to do a deal for pick 3 and will be taking it to the draft
*It's one of 6 players: Hollands, Thilthorpe, JUH, Macdonald, Bruhn, DGB. Didn't mention Will Phillips
*We will be drafting 3 players in the ND
*We were interested in Joe Daniher but not as interested as Brisbane
*KB makes the call on who we draft, but he does listen to input from JL

The most recent list of Swans' out of contract players comes from Sporting News:

• Zac Foot
• Robbie Fox
• Hayden McLean
• Ben Ronke
• Jackson Thurlow
• Sam Wicks

Hewett has quietly left the list without fanfare. I can't confirm the accuracy. Some players, like Ryan Clarke are not shown as having new contracts by Footywire.

If we drop ET, we don't have to cull this list more, but they are all prime candidates to be moved the rookie list.

We will have to wait for the next list lodgement.

I get we have 38 players incl hickey. plus or 3 draft picks = 41, therefore we need to delist/downgrade 4. our rookie list stands at 3 (bell,amerty and mclean) I think. what do we do, delist or down grading. I would downgrade E Taylor (not sure we will be allowed to delist), Foot ,Thurlow and probable Naismith (not sure if knee will be ok). Recontract all that needs to be,not sure how many that is, its confusing with various lists on red and white online.
ANY THOUGHTS comments. If I am right doesnt allow us to rookie anyone else.

Sounds like Kinnear and team rate Tanner higher than Will Phillips. Maybe due to him being a better kick.
Tanner will get targeted by Geelong later on if he is that good. Do we think we should draft or rate him over and above Elijah/Will given this fact? Or just take the best player available and rated by the list managers and not worry about go home factor.
