I doubt they will considering it's looking more and more likely (based on all the phantom drafts) that McDonald may still be available at that pick! I would think they would snap him up quick smart if he's there at 5 without giving a bid a 2nd thought!
Just on that, a few months back if not weeks ago, I thought we had absolutely no chance at landing McDonald (even with pick 3). Now that there's talk that not only is there a chance he'll be there at our pick, but we are even likely to overlook him for DGB! Well I would have thought I'd be infuriated by that notion!... But I'm not now for some reason... I am actually coming to terms with that DGB will not only be a good pick, but with his drive and all his other talent, that he may turn out to be the best player in this draft full stop!
To be honest I think I'd be reasonably happy with any of the big 5 in this year's draft, but I reckon that in the years to come if we have DGB lining up on McDonald or Ugle-Hagen or Thilthorpe etc. I think that his drive and competitiveness will outshine all of them and he will towel them up more often than not!

Despite not being able to watch 70% of players there is a pretty firm Top 5
From all reports we are picking between DGB and Lmac who both played this year
So its clear we will know what we are getting just need to confirm our need.
Throw in the 2 Academy kids and we have 3 known quantities
Also i dont take much from people saying DGB shut Lmac down when they played on each other, Buddy has been "shutdown" by backs who i doubt are better players than himComment

Just now - HAWTHORN recruiting and list manager Graham Wright is refusing to rule out placing a bid for Sydney Academy talent Braeden Campbell.
I'm telling you, they are not nice people at Hawthorn!
Matching pick 5 costs 1502 points, will burn our picks 33, 36, 40 and leave us with enough points to match pick 33. There are a couple of pick shuffles we could do tonight with other clubs to push up our points if Hawks do pull this arseactComment

Well done to Jamarra! I'm going to hate him for the next decade as he's a member of the AFL love child in 2016... still think these next generation thing stinks (not that we would have got him anyway) as him playing for the Oakleigh Chargers is hardly the doing of the Bulldogs...
Oh well, it is what it is!
