I'm not quite up on the points: if Gulden slips any further, is there any chance that we can make a fourth pick? Project ruckman or KPF, perhaps?

I understand the logic for them moving out their first round pick but not sure they got great value for it. If they'd held onto it they might have got more value next year - guess it depends on where they and other clubs think they are going to finish next year. I'm not sure I see them making it through to the pointy end of the season.

Any idea where we're up to re our remaining points?

          This is painfully long.
Gulden (who I reckon will be one of the best players drafted this year) and possibly someone else later.

Points aren't really relevant. We can take a fourth pick regardless of where Gulden is bid upon. Just makes a difference where it falls. If he's bid upon soon I think we'll still have a deficit to make up next year, so any other picks we want to take this year will be at the very end of the draft. With an early pick in the rookie draft, they might prefer to wait until then to take anyone else they have their eye on.

Getting McDonald was great, if he fulfills the potential the draft experts see in him. The #1 key forward spot is the hardest one to fill. It looks as though we've done that now. McCartin can stay in defence where he looked fantastic. And we pick up 2 gun midfielders.

We can use a top quality ruckman now for the longer run. But that's about it. The team is complete and young. It's just a matter of keeping them healthy and on track with their development.

The draft could not have gone better. And thanks to Clarko, we even had something to keep us interested in what would have otherwise been a boring remainder of the draft.

There's a lot to look forward to for Swans' fans.

His mum came to Sydney and worked for the club. She liked it so much she stayed after Grant returned to Melbourne to play for North. She was very popular at our club and tried to convince her son to stay with us.

Agree. The icing on the cake could be Shannon Neale left on the board for a late pick giving us a promising young ruckman.

No idea. It's too hard to keep up with all the pick matching and pick swaps and I don't have a convenient link for current live picks.

Hopefully gulden has slipped far enough now that other clubs see no point in bidding on him anytime soon

And young Errol just got past Hawthorn's pick 29.

                        taking a rough guess

we had 2150 after our pick trades tonight before our pick on McDonald

                        we used 1520ish for Campbell

                        remaining 630ish points???

pick 32 for gulden equals 584pts less 197pts fixed disc ?

so approx 200pts remaining ? which is approx a pick 56ish

Yes, I'm already looking forward to giving Hawthorn a thrashing next year. Hopefully Buddy will be fit enough for a 6 or 7 goal performance.

Well done to KB and the team for preserving pick 3(4) and managing to accumulate enough points to snare Campbell and Gulden. Nice haul!

What a great night, got our boys and a player that was being talked about as a possible number 1 pick (JUH withstanding)

                                Well done, a great haul
