    Interesting summary of the top ten players that missed out last night;
AFL Draft 2020: Snubbed rookies, Picks, Kaine Baldwin, Jackson Callow, Oliver Davis, Analysis | Fox Sports

I'd like to see us pick up McCartin and Walsh. There's a few inside mid options there too.

The Campbell household was a contrast. No celebration when the Hawks called his name but pandemonium when we matched the bid. Clear he didn't want to go anywhere else other then us. I'm excited to see Braeden play and hope he has good enough form to debut early.

Of the 3 though, I think Errol is the most likely to play R1. He will be a great sidekick to Paps in F50. Paps has been a bit of a one man show in applying F50 pressure but Errol will help him in this and hopefully free Paps to really hurt the opposition in attack.
Unfortunately Mcdonald's reaction reminds me of Shannon Grant's reaction to be drafted by the Swans in 1994.

It was because Logan was imagining being introduced to the team by Longmire:

"Hey Lance. Come over here. I want you to meet your replacement."

At least there's not much expected of him.

I think everyone is over reacting to his reaction . He looks a level headed young man who realises the hard work starts now . Would be nerve wracking being interviewed moments after finding out you are being drafted and will need to move , his head would have been spinning.

"And since you probably won't be playing much, the next couple of years; would you mind giving Logan some of your pay packet?"

People need to get over the reaction from the McDonald household. Excluding him, the average age of the room would have been 65+. You aren't going to get people flipping out like at the Campbell house that was full of mates.
He's already responded on the insta page saying he's stoked, and had a photo opp done with his parents looking thrilled.
Given the two WA teams barely appeared in the draft, he knew he was leaving WA.

Someone posted something on social media about it and people here are continuing to mention it. It's not a thing.

As said previously, have a look at the reaction from GWS's top pick as a comparison to see what disappointed looks like.

Our interest in P.McCartin might have been linked to whether we could get McDonald or not - I think he's worth taking as a rookie regardless.

Surely we go for Walsh or Heath with our first RD pick assuming they would be taken by someone else before the following round.

I'm much happier with McDonald than DGB - I know DGB also played WAFL this year but he's such an outlier in terms of being that dominant intercept KD at his age that I'd just have a nagging doubt re: whether he would continue to develop and be as dominant at AFL level. He may well do so but McDonald seems such a safe bet to be a quality key forward for a long time.

Originally I wasn't that enthused by the comparison to J.Riewoldt but I think that is more on the basis of his consistency, smarts etc - I wouldn't expect a lot of highlight reel stuff but if he's consistently very good in that position then that's pretty useful.

I agree, it's an over-reaction. Not everyone expresses emotions the same way.

McDonald will be pleased he's going to be at the same club as Warner.

                    Some articles from SEN:

Why Sydney traded Aliir Aliir (From an interview with KB. Give up something to get something - basically Aliir for Hickey.)

The three clubs Kane Cornes is buying shares in for 2021 (Clubs he thinks will be improving next year are Fremantle, Sydney and Port Adelaide.)

Every pick from marathon 2020 National Draft (A very brief summary of every pick in the draft. The draft had four rounds.)

I think the comparison was to Nick Riewoldt, not Jack.

Agree that we should seriously consider taking one of the ruck prospects mentioned.

People are saying we should take this person or that person but we had one more pick last night and passed. Makes me think we have someone else in our sites.

For proof, Sydney had a pick at the start of the fourth round in the early 50s that was passed. There were 20 picks taken or passed after that pick. That pick would have been later in the draft if there was a deficit.

I have also seen references to Nick, but lately more of them to Jack (eg. the following, just the first two that come up):

McDonald - traits like Richmond’s Jack Riewoldt
McDonald has been likened to Jack Riewoldt

We passed last night as that would have added them to our primary list - more expensive and restrictive. Adding them to the Rookie List today is much better (and with pick 3 we can be confident in getting one of the best overlooked prospects).
