What about these stats:
inside 50s 51-34
disposals 299-245
contested possession 132-109
scoring shots 17-12
It wasn't just the umpires, Carlton dominated us once they turned things around.Comment

Umpiring was terrible in general but probably did favour Carlton at times. But geez to kick 1.2 in the second half, after such a bright start, is inexcusable. Our forward structure after half time was again broken. Hope it's something we can improve in 2021 (Buddy or not). We aren't going to progress as much as some think if we don't put more time and effort into having a functional forward line of some sort.
Clearly Horse's overarching strategy of folding everyone back to inside the defensive 50 needs a tune up - if we don't become more offensively focused we'll face more frustration next year. And tonight was frustrating.Comment

We need to build our defence for the next decade around him."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

We had a few sore bodies after that. Time to rest some players and bring in some freshies. I'd like to see Gould and Amartey debut. Ling, Warner, Mills and Stephens in for another run. Maybe not all in the same week though.Comment

You could try to stop us from having a go at the umpires, but I really don't like your chances. Especially on nights like tonight, when they largely forgot about the holding the ball rule and only umpired one side for holding in the marking contest.Comment

He was outstanding tonight. I reckon he could make an absolute beast of a forward, but he is too good down back for mine. Class above tonight and playing like a 250 game veteran, not someone with what 35 odd games on the board. He is our solution at CHB, that is now clear in my mind.
We need to build our defence for the next decade around him.Comment

Umpires didn’t help for sure but we just ran out of steam after the first qtr really. And, once again, got a an absolute belting out of the middle. This team needs a gun inside mid. Joeys not what he was, nor is Parker. Rowbottom still learning. After that there’s nothing. Oh And a decent ruckman.

The ruck situation is a mess, but I truly think we should look for a good experienced head, and try our best to get a quality young ruckman and take a punt on developing them. And maybe pick up someone like a Preuss looking for opportunities. We don't need a ruckman necessarily for season 2021 (i.e. I don't think we will be contending for anything), but we need that piece of the puzzle well on the way to be solved for 2022 onwards, as we are making huge progress in other elements of the team."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

I'm generally positive given who we have out, who we are getting games into, and the experience of games like this. There's a number of dudes in that team who won't be in our best 22 next year and the younger ones who will are going ok.
But FFS, no more Sinclair - please! Dude's a lumbering free kick against. When he gets it, it's a turnover. What's the @@@@ing point. He gets beaten in the air and around the ground every week. Start Aliir in there or play Amartey. Man.Comment
