Adelaide are now being a bunch of ****s and calling our bluff. Ricciuto is an a-hole.

Adelaide Crows could pull pre-season draft heist to secure Sydney Swan Jordan Dawson

I have it on good authority that George Hewitt and Aliir Aliir were seen sitting on the promenade at Coogee Brach this morning chatting.

Could there be something brewing with Port and the Swans?

I don’t know why Aliir would come to Sydney and run the risk of two week quarantine time to get back into SA?

In any event it should say something to Dawson that Aliir bolted back to Sydney the first opportunity he got. Amazing city is Sydney.

I had a weird thought, whether we are demanding a top-10 pick because we want to use it on another player? Even possibly a Hawthorn one.

I wonder if Port picking up Finlayson means they'll be more prepared to let Ladhams go? My instinct is we want to get Ladhams but are waiting for them to lower the asking price (to say pick 31 or similar)

Gee, that interpretation takes some imagination!

I can think of 2 reasons why we're chasing top 20 pick:
1/ That's Jordan's worth & longer this drags out more he may get nervous and agree on 2 year deal with us to RFA. Don't think he'd want to risk PSD & screw us after we've done to develop his career. Don't burn bridges.

2/ Split top 10 pick in to other 1st/2nd picks for draft targets we may in mind. I don't there be any worthy gettable top 10 players available to trade.

Edit: Top 10 pick that was supposed to read above. Can't edit post via phone otherwise it's lost.

I really hope you're right but as a now opposition player and the way he announced wanting to leave us, do you think he gives a poo about burning bridges? Has he not already done that?

If you're 'staying with the Swans' scenario came to pass, it would be a very awkward 2 years for him at the Swans. He would come out with the usual 'I will do my best to regain the trust of the playing group and do my best for the team' etc and we and his team mates would know all along that it is just code for "I'll ride out my time with a team I don't want to be at and get home when it's finally over". Judas Dawson come on down.....

I can’t think of a reason why a professional footballer would risk a scenario of doing two weeks of hotel quarantine. Not being able to train can cause injury problems. Just ask Callam Mills.

Depends if they think he can be won around in the same way as Paps, ROK, Josh Dunkley (WBD) etc. I can't see him staying, but would be very happy if he did.

Sydney has not been very amazing in the last few months.

Its quite possible that Dawson just got fed up with Covid. Having to escape sydney during the season, not allowed across state borders. It may have all got too hard.
If that is the reason, he could be convinced to stay on a 2 year deal (to get him to free agency) as you'd expect 2022 to be a lot different. (but may not be).

I think the likelihood is, in order:
                    1) We get a good deal out of Adelaide. Basically around pick 10 as I previously speculated Dawson is a pick 10 quality*.
                    2) We keep him on a 2 year deal, with options to trade to adelaide after 1 year if covid borders dont change.
                    3) We let him go to PSD.
                    4) We accept a bad deal from Adelaide (pick 17).

                    * - Some have said you need two pick 10's to get a dawson. Not really. Pick 10 could get you a dawson (even value), a dangerfield (above value) or a Ryley Dunn (under value).

According to Trade Talk Live "Adelaide is set to make a fresh, revised offer to Sydney for outside midfielder Jordan Dawson".

                      Should be interesting....

Also Jeremy Finlayson is now a Port player.....for a future third round pick.

Power pick up Giant forward for bargain price

Also this: "The Power have other potential trades in play, with ruckman Peter Ladhams attracting interest and meeting with Hawthorn and Sydney as those clubs assess their ruck stocks.

Port Adelaide is pushing for a first-round pick as compensation for Ladhams. "

                      They are deluded....

I reckon the Swans will pick Ladhams up for less than a first rounder, but not a lot less.

To be fair probably more hits than misses among that list, and the Swans didn’t help the figures with our first two attempts.
I for one have absolutely no recollection of John Brinkotter ?

Ludwig, why do you have your heart set on van Rooyen and Bazzo, as opposed to, say, Amiss and Williams? (maybe because they are KPDs instead of KPFs?)

I share the faint hope that, if the Crows don't play fair, JD may be more likely to remain.

I don't think we will or should allow the Crows to get JD via the PSD. If he wasn't such a highly rated player - maybe - but we can't afford to let such a big talent leave for nothing in return.

I am confident KB has a good gauge on the situation and will get something at least close to the best available.

I wish I knew more about Peter Ladhams and how good he is. Haven't seen enough of him to have my own opinion. I would not want to see us pay a jot more than pick 31 for him. Overall I am really holding out for a ready to play, young pure ruck. Someone who is ready to go if Hickey is unavailable, but willing to bide their time for a season or so with limited opportunities while Hickey is still going strong.

I was at Coogee this morning but didn't spot Aliir. Have been seeing quite a few people wearing Swans caps around though - more than I can ever remember before.

I think it's a good draft to have picks in the 10-30 range. There are going to be a lot differences on different clubs' draft boards and that will give rise to the opportunity to get players who we rate a lot higher than the pick we will need to get them with.
