If Adelaide are going to throw $650k per year at him, they obviously think he is worth something and they need to come up with a trade that justifies that.
They could look to clubs who might consider swapping out their first rounder this year for the Crows first rounder next year, or dealing with the Bulldogs (but if we have a few second rounders why not us trade the Dogs first round pick?).

Cows won't be moved on their 2022 first rounder, which is likely to again be a high pick, as they will want that to try and get Lukocious and/or Rankine from GC.

Looks like we've reminded the Cows they got pick 12 for Charlie Cameron, who wasn't as good then as he is now, and they got two first rounders for Jake Lever but gave a couple of later picks back.

The trade will certainly be pick 23 (25) but it's the plus that we'll try and maximise, something like 2022 second rounder. This is unless the Cows relent and trade their pick 4 with Richmond for picks 7 & 15

Cant have too many guns at the centre circle , a starting trio of Mills Parker Heeney is fantastic . I have said i prefer him fwd but even i can see that . Agreed TB- Heaney is fantastic everywhere! Thing is, we have a gap upfront if he spends more time in midfield, and I don’t know who can step up to fill the void. I’m hoping Campbell can partially deputise for Jordan with his left peg but then we will have Blakey on one flank and Lloyd on the other, with JMac on one wing. Can Wicks step up and score more? I watched some of the earlier games of the year and he hit the scoreboard a fair bit. I know some of you like the pressure he can apply but for mine he has to do more, especially if Heaney spends more time in midfield.

Horse talks about Logan, but realistically he is still very raw- is he putting the cart before the “horse”?

If you are not playing McDonald next year and getting him to develop next to Buddy then you might as well trade him back to Fremantle or West Coast now. McDonald is our future main guy up forward.

We should match whatever Adelaide are offering and reduce to 2 years if that’s what he wants. Stuff 2nd rounders- simply nowhere near to what he’s worth. Jordan, forget mom’s cooking- stay with us and win a flag!

Collingwood set to get pick 22 from Gold Coast. If we got 17 and something next year for JD and could swap 31, 39 for 22 we’d have 12, 17, 22 and and improved hand next year

Obviously he will play a lot more with Buddy next year but still very young to be a key forward- it can take 2-3 years before he gains enough experience to score a lot of goals. He has the talent but we can’t expect miracles after just a few games!

Although he garbled it I think Horse was saying he thinks Logan will improve significantly next year.

Largely agree but where we differ is that I’d prefer him to get the experience at AFL level rather than in the twos. If he can get 25 goals next year, it would be a success.

Put it this way, in simple terms, Heeney, Dawson, and Hewett combined for 45 goals this year. I think it is at least better than even money that a combination of McDonald, Heeney, and Campbell (for example) matches that output even with Heeney moving 80% mid.

He didn't look too raw in his first few games.....get him in there I say. No better way too learn than playing along side the master.

Not sure I would have re-signed Sinclair if we were getting another ruckman but having more support might mean Hickey can be the backup option in 2023-24 (I’m not sure he can go beyond 2022 if he takes another year of battering).

IMO Ladhams is a bit like Hickey - pretty mobile and good at ground level, can push forward and actually gets his hand on the ball in a lot of ruck contests. Probably a bit more aggressive than Hickey which is all the better.

Not unreasonable if Ladhams goes on to become an all Australian ruckman, sure

Looking at Twomey's draft pick 4 which will drift to pick 6 would equate to Josh Ward or equivalent. Given a choice who would you have? Josh Ward or Jordan Dawson. Its a no brainer to me that Dawson is worth pick 4 and then some. If Adelaide don't want to play at that level I would be quite happy to see him in the PSD where North have plenty of salary cap room and where John Blakey would know his talents. Swans would get nothing but a second round pick in a Covid year is a big gamble and we can probably do nearly as well with the picks we hold and some rookie picks. Time to be tough.
