Clarke and Taylor are known quantities and will not go above the level that they have exhibited thus far.... so they are list cloggers as far as I'm concerned. Good to get fresh blood through

When RWO names its posts of the century, this is a walk up starter ????????

Seems to be a real mixed consensus about the quality of the draft, so perhaps the thinking was along the lines of thinking other gaps to fill can wait until next year?

Interesting we've take more WA boys too - wonder if part of it is trying to build a decent cohort of them at the club to try and dampen the go home factor.
On your second paragraph, it probably doesn't hurt. They will be relying on Chad to show leadership in managing the little training group in Perth for the next six weeks.

Just watched some highlights of Roberts - he has thunderous boot on him.

Agree with deja that we must be expecting Paddy to be a best 22 tall.

I'm really confident Corey will do well and am stoked we picked him up.

            top10 for 20m
            Top10 for 2km
1st and 2nd for vertical standing and run and jump

            pick40 not bad !!!!

There's a reason our club is called the Swans

                      But…

-we let Hewitt go as we have too many mids.
-we are trying to get Stephens, Campbell and Rowbottom into the top 22 whilst planning to put Heeney into the midfield more regularly
-our last live picks around 18 were Jones, Florent and Towers

So why two midfielders instead of upgrading Wicks/Bell in the small/medium forward role or upgrading Fox/O’Riordan/Melican/Cunningham in the small defender or third tall, especially with Rampe’s age?

Or Conway to pair with Ladhams in a couple of years? He was available at 18!

Even with JPK retiring we still have a heap of mids with many keen to see Clarke and Taylor given an extended chance to play in the seniors…
We ditched Hewett for cap reasons

I've seen a lot of Roberts playing senior SANFL for South Adelaide, he's a pure footballer, just keeps getting from contest to contest, accumulates and damaging by foot, loves a goal, will be loved by the coaches.

Corey - fantastic pick, big athletic results and looks good in the clips, worth every bit of pick 40 to keep the family together, two more brothers still to come!!

This was a mids draft, next year plenty of KP and we have two firsts to spend. Good work by the team.

Nice little training group in Perth, Corey was already training with them doing the Swans program.

Yep. This years draft is a crap shoot because of COVID and full of mids outside the top 10, so we’ve gone for them as they are discardable.

Next year is full of promising talls and we have two first round picks.

                                sydney - Lachlan Rankin
                                Height, Weight: 184cm, 74kg
Profile: A talented and speedy small forward, Rankin possesses freakish agility and one-touch ground level capabilities. Making something happen whenever he gets his hands on the ball, his best work is done at ground level as a crumber with his finishing around goal and setting up of targets inside 50 both exceptional.
