Amartey has the talent, but will that be enough? I was a long time waiting for the shoe to drop for Gary Rohan. It was a long wait. Maybe it's finally happened with Geelong. I hope it happens sooner for Joel.

If anyone can profit from emulating Buddy, it's Amartey. They're really quite similar. Amartey is Buddy without the swagger and competitiveness. I don't know if that's teachable.
If you can turn Amartey into Buddy I’ll have to rename you the Alchemist!

Bit harsh to doubt Amartey's competitiveness after his excellent game last week, his third ever.

My June prediction. Patrick Cripps will join the Swans as a RFA at year’s end.

I'm only noting that there are different levels of competitiveness, rather than being critical of Amartey or saying that he's not competing. He has the athleticism and physical presence to impose himself on the game, which is not quite there yet, but he's making progress and I've been very pleased with his performances so far.

Just to give an example. If Amartey played in a similar manner to Aaron Naughton, he would be one of the very best forwards in the game.

It wouldn’t be a surprise as there has been no announcements made or hardly any comments in the media since I posted this rumour from BF a few weeks back. Apparently the premature announcement that he was resigning by Carlton wasn’t appreciated by Cripps.

Cripps is a great player and would be amazing: however I have trouble understanding why he would leave. Surely the C club would offer him as much money as any other club. As far as lists go, nothing wrong with theirs, they just need more heart. As the captain, it would be a bad look to leave. He doesn’t have the need to come to Sydney like Buddy did, or for that matter Joe Daniher. So bottom line: he ain’t coming!

He might want to get off the Teague Train.

                I agree it’s very unlikely

A new 195 cm goal kicking forward has come into Cal Twomey's Draft team of year.

............. with the somewhat comical name of Jye Amiss. It could be a challenge for nonnative determinists.

I better start working on BT's script for next year. Plenty of material here.

I agree that Cripps is very unlikely to be coming to Sydney for a bunch of reasons.

Oddly enough, about a week ago, Gerard Healy floated the idea of Patrick Cripps undergoing a positional change, as reported here: Ex-Blues assistant responds to radical Cripps role change idea

Healy's proposition to turn Cripps into a forward/ruck is something I wholeheartedly agree with, and combined with the meeting in Sydney, gives the rumour a bit of substance. He stacks up well against other options like Mabior Chol. But I can't see how we can afford the price tag.

Cripps may be our equivalent of Dan Hannebery, young in age but body wear and tear of someone 3 times his age. As much as i like him as a player, I think you love affair with Chol should continue

Good comparison of Cripps with Hanners. His body is already beaten up. It's way too risky for any club to take him. He's going to be overpaid for what he can deliver from here on, regardless where he ends up.

And in much the same way as Milton Friedman had a lot to say about centrally planned economies.

Are you calling Ludwig (Wittgenstein) a Ruck Skeptic?

Don’t worry, Friedman is yesterday’s man. Though he caused me much grief in my uni days - which were ‘yesterday’ by some margin.
