I count the outflow as established regular players who will retire or forced to stop playing due to injury. The one's you have listed are fringe players who might get delisted and replaced by players likely to have less prospects of success. I think we should lose Sinclair, Gray, Brand and Naismith. The other 4 may be worth holding on to for another year and see how things play out as I think they are likely better prospects than the rookies who would replace them. -
In the absence of any alternative first ruck (BigMac too young and Naismith too broken) - I can certainly see us hanging on to Sinkers for another year (He's only a year older than Hickey).Comment

If our club's recruiters go for Fogarty, I'd back them in. However, the names I have thrown up are Jarrod Brander, Harrison Petty and Aaron Francis, probably in that order. Petty and Francis are both, like Fogarty, from SA. Petty is taller than the others and his stocks have risen a lot since Adam Tomlinson got injured and he has started playing for the Demons. I think they're all coming out of contract.
Could someone remind me where to find (preferably post a link to) the list maintained by a poster on Big Footy about all the players from all the different clubs and where they are up to with their contracts? I'd love to check if the above remains the case.Last edited by bloodspirit; 13 July 2021, 04:38 AM.All opinions are not equal. I mostly agree with Ludwig when it comes to list management. He makes compelling and reasoned arguments and is forward-thinking. Especially this is true at the general level - not quite so much with the specific players from other clubs he wants to target (Tony Olango) or Swans he wants to keep (Abe Davis). I forgot to mention something I've made many comments on, in that I expect we will recruit another forward ruck like Chol, Max Lynch or Ladhams, who with become our backup ruckman. Amartey is a decent 3rd backup, if needed, followed by McAndrew.
If we don't recruit another ruckman, then Sinkers will likely stay on for another year.Comment

I was thinking similarly even before Naismith went down and we got McAndrew. My thought was that time's up for Sinkers and we need both an extra proper ruck (Ladhams, Lynch etc) and a forward-ruck (Chol, Coleman-Jones etc). However, since then Amartey has come on and possibly he can be the forward-ruck I thought we needed to recruit. I'd still leap at Coleman-Jones.I forgot to mention something I've made many comments on, in that I expect we will recruit another forward ruck like Chol, Max Lynch or Ladhams, who with become our backup ruckman. We agree on something recently! Hooray!. Sinkers will stay on minimum wage if we can't get any other ruck via trade. I can see a time where Amartey might be tried as first ruck if Hickey went down but I don't think I like it. One of the Port rucks (Ladhams or Hayes) would be a good get.Comment

That can probably be said for almost every AFL club but with Hickey on the wrong side of 30 and with no obvious decent back up, they’ve got as much chance of playing more games here over the next 5 years than anywhere else.Comment

Hopefully this article is just Dawson's manager pushing for the best contract from the Swans:
‘Rival interest’ for emerging Swan Dawson
It does say about half-way down that he's keen to remain with the Swans.Comment
