Just a feeling, I get. I don't see any symptoms of ruckophilia, no posts advocating the need to play two ruckmen for example.

Ludwig, I don't understand everything you espouse, but what I do comprehend I nearly always agree with.
Must be something good in that Thai tucker.
        Keep up the good work.

And while I'm handing out accolades, I must mention Liz.
Your knowledge and analysis of this game of ours is priceless and invaluable.
This would be a sad place without you,
          Thank you.

Oddly enough, about a week ago, Gerard Healy floated the idea of Patrick Cripps undergoing a positional change, as reported here: Ex-Blues assistant responds to radical Cripps role change idea

Healy's proposition to turn Cripps into a forward/ruck is something I wholeheartedly agree with, and combined with the meeting in Sydney, gives the rumour a bit of substance. He stacks up well against other options like Mabior Chol. But I can't see how we can afford the price tag.
If there was a market on where Cripps might be going I would have my Laurie Nash on WCE. Unless he signs in the next month I reckon he is heading to WA. If he is leaving the cheque book club then where else would he go but his home city.

STOP THE PRESS: I just got a little bit of inside info on Cripps. He is staying at Carlton. So put a line through any optimism he might come to us.

Never doubted it. As their captain he has to lead by example. Hopefully the cheque book club won’t win anything for many years to come. Partner’s family all Carlton supporters and I enjoy stirring them and keep reminding them how they behaved in 92. Out of all the clubs I detest them the most and so happy when they lose!

They do have a good list.tbhough, and don’t quite understand why they don’t play out a game. But long may it continue!

Carlton have a group of 6-8 top line players but they combine poorly as a team. I think their coach must be in real trouble. They were very poor against GWS last night.

If I remember rightly we got a lot of inside info that Tom (Show me the money) Mitchell was staying with us.
Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.

Re Cripps: not sure being captain necessarily indicates he won’t leave Carlton. Didn’t stop Tom Lynch jumping from Gold Coast to Richmond.

                        Agree with you T.B.

If we're going to trade, we need an established key defender (would love to convince Rance to come out of retirement) and a backup ruckman.

Having said that, Dusty spotted in Sydney again hanging out with Sonny Bill Williams this time. He seems to enjoy life in the harbour city and had become mates with SBW and Buddy. I wonder whether he's on our radar?

That would piss off the Victorian horde no end! It would be hilarious.....but be warned, we would probably have our papers re-stamped "Not to win a flag while Dusty's at the Swans". Remember, we can't have everything!

Tom Lynch was the exception- Gold Coast looked like a basket case. (Maybe they still are!) so it was almost inevitable that he would leave- it was only a question of where he woul go.

In any case, I think we need a KPD and maybe a ruckman much more than Cripps.

Maybe an exception, but not the exception. Steven May was also co-captain of the Suns and he left. Chris Judd was captain of West Coast. Leigh Colbert was captain of Geelong (though only for one season, and a season in which he didn't play a game as he was injured).

Caused quite a stir when Colbert left for North, don't remember him doing much there, but it is a long time ago and my memory is not the best!
