Lots of negativity for Gould on this site. We need to remember the last 2 years have been so unusual and hard on players. New recruits like Gould were identified by Kinnear on potential, skill and the need and he doesn't get many wrong. I remember when Dawson was recruited, it took 3 seasons before he was given an opportunity in the 22. So let's take a breath and give Gould the opportunity to show what potential he really has and showed in the SANFL. We want him to fire as he is the next generation of our backline, who are ageing.

Good post. And you want to double down: guess who else once got a big kick up the date for coming back unfit and overweight in a preseason?

Young Jordan. (Won’t post the link to ruin the thread but google Jordan Dawson all at sea).
'Delicious' is a fun word to say

That's interesting because earlier in the year there was a photo of him shirtless and there wasn't an ounce of fat on him.

I think he’s getting him mixed up with Stewy Dew

This hypothesis is my opinion only.

The Swans sharpened their pencil and gave Parker his four years when Lachie Neale looked like he was leaving Brisbane. The Swans knew that Brisbane
would have the money to pay Parker and have a like for like replacement for Neale.

They got the deal done quickly after this Neale news emerged.

I wonder now if the Swans hierarchy are as happy with their Parker negotiation in light of Neale staying? That competitive sum of money that was going to be available in Brisbane is no longer available.

Parker’s management have negotiated brilliantly to get the deal done when they did.

Every fan is delighted to have Parker for another 4 seasons.

I wonder if fans will be as happy if the deal lost Dawson. Tom Morris thinks this could be a possibility.

I don’t think the two are connected. I I also think Dawson is staying. Other than that spot on.

What does everyone think of the likelihood of Paddy McCartain getting picked up, either by us or any other side?

I have Paddy McCartin in for my round 1 2022 team. A certainty in my opinion.

Need that big body in defence as an upgrade to Melican. Fox or Rampe can’t be expected to take the 2nd best tall every week.

Worth a late draft pick if still available, can’t see too many other clubs being interested. Worth a punt

Dont know but one thing is for certain , if we pick him up it will not be speculative . They will have seen enough of him to know whether hes worth picking up or not and if they arent 100% convinced they wont take the chance on a 25 yr old

Doesn't need a draft pick, he's a DFA so we just sign him on in any of the DFA signing windows, he's free draft wise.

Is Paddy McCartin a good fit for our 44th (or whatever it will be next year) list spot? I'd think so but then again I haven't seen his VFL level form.

Barrett saying on the VFL website this morning that we may regret giving Parker that fourth year.

I'm not big on kicking journalists for everything they say, but that is a lazy throwaway line from Barrett which he knows he'll never be held accountable for.

The length of the contract isn't an issue, although I hope there is a $ reduction in the final two years
