I don't know if it has been mentioned on R & W online but I think it is possible that thebloods has unrealistic expectations.
Fortunately the guys picking him each week are in charge of delistings ????

Beatson has nothing to do with player payments.

I don't think rowbottom wants to be a failed footy classified panellist, failed board member, failed footy director, and left to spruk dodgy financial products.

I've been watching some of the U19 championship game between WA and SA. WA have a fair number of talls, both forward and back, that look pretty good. The best of the lot is a name that's come up recently because his accurate goal kicking, Jye Amiss. He's not quite as impressive as Logan McDonald, but has similarities. Amiss looks athletic and is a strong mark, and of course, a very accurate kick for goal.

WA also had 2 impressive KPDs, van Rooyen, who also plays forward, and Bazzo.

Our 1st round live pick should be in 13-15 range, we will gain a spot if Essendon win v. WB, so I think we will have a few KPP choices in the 1st round and perhaps the 2nd round as well.

Corey Warner played, but didn't do much from what I saw. Looks a lot like his brother.

Yeah spot on barry. Why would Rowbottom (or any other player) want a career that looks like this:

                AFL Premiership player: (2006)
                2Ă— Brownlow Medal: (2004, 2010)
                Norm Smith Medal: (2005)
                AFL premiership Captain: (2006)
                West Coast Captain: (2006–2007)
                Carlton captain: (2008–2012)
                2Ă— Leigh Matthews Trophy: (2006, 2011)
                6Ă— All-Australian team: (2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011)
                2Ă— West Coast Club Champion: (2004, 2006)
                3Ă— John Nicholls Medal: (2008, 2009, 2010)
                3Ă— Ross Glendinning Medal: (2005, 2005, 2006)

He is extremely quick to read the play and get a pass off to the right player in a fraction of a second. He's a very good decision maker. You need to watch this aspect of his game in more detail.
                  2. It's not true that you can't fix your tank. As a lifelong serious amateur cyclist, I have a pretty good idea what it takes to build aerobic capacity, and lose it as well. It's training and more training. I don't know what RBs aerobic capacity was before he was injured, but losing training continuity surely affected his tank this year. He should get back in better running form with a full preseason.
                  Hi Ludwig,

You are right on both points here.. Joey Kennedy was never renowned for his elite fitness, but he willed himself to be one of the fittest mids in the comp by sheer hard work!! No reason Jimmy Rowbottom can't do the same!

Interestingly I've noticed a bit of a pattern where the more involved Rowy is, the better his ball use becomes.

Rd 1 Brisbane before his knee injury he had the most contested possessions of all our mids (13) and went at 78% disposal efficiency.
Against Collingwood he had 9 contested possessions and went at 89% disposal efficiency.
Against Carlton he had 8 contested possessions and went at 83% disposal efficiency.
Against St Kilda he had 11 contested possessions and went at 80% disposal efficiency.
Against North he had 9 contested possessions at 82% disposal efficiency.
And in the final against GWS he had 8 contested possessions at 80% disposal efficiency.

In fact since he came back from his spell and looked a lot better, he finished the season with games of 82%, 83% and 80% disposal efficiency. Quite a lot of mids especially you expect their ball use to drop the more they're accumulating.. Rowy seems to get tidier the more hard balls he is winning! Some players just need to get their hands on the leather to really get a feel and get their touch! There is no denying that finding the ball is his challenge at the present.. but if he can get more of the ball then the numbers don't lie.. he's a classy ball winner!!

Totally agree we should give him time and see how things unfold for him.

Jordan Dawson will be our swing man like Reidy going forward ie can play HBF, WING and or HFF when needed due to match ups etc

I suspect that if Reidy stays with us it will be a light contract

Dawson now takes over his pay packet and then some

If Reid went back to Vic would a North or Hawks etc want to trade him in for a pick 25 to 35?

For this to be true, Melican would need to be on +$500k. There is no way that’s the case. Footywire must be wrong.

I think Brand offers so much more than Melican.

5 ordinary games in 2 years maybe says otherwise.

I like the pelican. Runs hard and generally a pretty reliable defender when on his game. Unfortunately he was not for much of yesterday & looked out of sorts. He did work his way back into the game & much more solid after half time. Damage done though & we had to chase the game.

Tough call - but LM > KB.
