On The Age podcast Caroline Wilson pretty confidently stated that she reckons Parker will stay and the speculation about him leaving is overstated (paraphrased).

Even if our cap squeeze isn’t all that dire, I guess it’s smart to just let the narrative continue, as long as we don’t go too far and have anyone we want to re-sign decide to walk.
If we came out and said “actually it’s fine, we have room to keep everyone, we’re just waiting on the final figure from the AFL”, it would weaken our position in each negotiation.
There was something IIRC re: players who had contracts back-ended in 2020 and 2021, that if they were part of the % cuts they had to have some or all of that repaid in 2022 (as the straight % cut was unfair in them with more of their deal falling in the impacted years).
If so we probably owe Franklin a fair bit due to that, but it wouldn’t make much sense that we were back-ending too many others in the same years Buddy’s deal was at its highest.Comment

Out:
Gray, Brand, Reid, Ronke, Ling, Taylor (he is contracted until end of '22 but maybe trade him out), Naismith, Stephens. We can get a good trade for Stephens and retain Hewett.
We only have 3 draft picks plilus rookies. So maybe 5. That would bring our list down a bit to maybe 38. Enough until Kennedy and Bud retire. Then we can start building a greater base in next year's draft.

That's wonderful news. I would be devastated if he left. It was very considerate of the great LP to agree to terms so I wouldn't have to change my profile name and pic on RWO. In all seriousness, he's the player I absolutely love to watch.Comment

I’ll take it as gospel when the club announces it. Just as I ignore it when the media say players are on the move, until a contact is signed and ratified, I can’t be sure the deal is doneComment

I adore Parks.
When the swans used to hold trivia nights, at his first year at the club, he sat next to me during the first half of the night.
God love him, but he had no idea about a lot of things. Bless, he was like, 12.
He was hilarious that night, and we bounced our warped senses of humour of each other and I went home with sore ribs from laughing.
In his mid- to late-20's, when his body naturally just went up a notch, I was speaking with him and his Mrs after a match and asked where the hell did he buy the new guns, and if he'd got them on special or paid full price. His Mrs pushed me and said shut up... his head is big enough as it is. We all cracked up.
He is honestly the nicest bloke, and is everything the "bloods" culture says and is about.
I've enjoyed watching his career just get better and better and watching him grow into the man he is today.
He built his new house pretty much with his own hands... I can't see him leaving it.
I'd honestly be devastated if the club didn't sign him back up at a decent wage. He's a one-jumper man.
By all Fox rumours, he's staying... but Club... hurry up and announce it officially so I can sleep at night.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment
