It's Payback time for the Crows. If they don't send Dawson through to the PSD, then I think maybe we should to thank them and be gratefull for whatever we receive.
I think this is a fair way to objectively look at things. The Crows waited 9 years and now they've got us.

Okay. Let's take 2022 Melbourne 1st rounder and call it even.

For memory I think there was a big enquiry into the whole Tippett/Adelaide salary cap thing and the Swans weren't allowed to trade for him until that was sorted out.
Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.

2021 trading, drafting and list management: players and personnel

We only ended up taking tippett in the PSD because of the stupidity of the Fruit tingles and their contracting arrangements - which saw any trade for him blocked.

Kurt Tippett was fined $50,000 and suspended for 11 rounds over salary cap breaches which also saw the Crows fined and key officials suspended.

Hardly our fault their club was (and it appears still is) is run by numpties.

The Crows were forbidden from trading Tippett after their trade cap shenanigans came to light. They (and Tippett) were found to have breached the cap and were sanctioned accordingly. It's a bit rich to blame that on Sydney, even if we were the "beneficiaries" via the PSD. ('Beneficiaries' being questionable in hindsight.)

That doesn't mean that the Crows aren't still bitter. Just that they don't really have a valid basis for being so.

Though I do think our opening bid for Tippett was around pick 20, possibly with Jesse White thrown in. So maybe they are still bitter about that, notwithstanding that one of the cap issues that got them into trouble was supposedly a verbal promise to trade Tippett to the club of his choice for a second round pick.

Can we all agree to refer to it from now on as the PTSD?

I think you may be right. Thing is, KB and team are not budging at this point with a day to go. Are they just stringing the Crows along, simply to keep them in suspense? How do they view the Tippett saga: did we act in a similar way or were circumstances different? Whatever the case, this should get done by tomorrow and now let’s get Ladhams!

Then, we recruited Buddy and Mike Fitzpatrick lost his mind.

He got his moronic muppet in Gil McLachlan to end COLA. Then, they subsequently imposed a trade ban to stop us 'rorting' contracts to manipulate the wind out of COLA, even though they also saw and vetted these said contracts.

Life lesson: the AFL is a bunch of fools who arbitrarily design and apply rules.
It's a shame the Swans didn't take the AFL to court over this ridiculous trade ban, to force the AFL to show a legitimate legal cause for this ban.

And the AFL reckons we don't need a proper COLA . . .

I know, right. I mean, who wouldn't be peeved that they missed out on the magnificent beast that was Jesse White

Noting that I deleted my original tweet, as I misread what I was responding to.

They closely considered it but . . . they knew the AFL would take revenge on them for the next 50 years.

The AFL would have been on shaky ground here. If the AFL had gone down that path, the Swans could have forced the AFL to look closely at other past actions, such as forcing the Swans - a foundation club - to pay millions of dollars in licence fees to keep other clubs afloat. None of the other foundation clubs had to pay licence fees.

The only club that has been treated worse by the governing body was South Sydney in the NRL. Fitzroy were also hard done by the AFL.

KB has struck a deal with Melbourne. They have won their premiership and are content for 2022. After we capitulate to the Crows and take the Dees 2022 first rounder for JD, the Dees will drop from first this year to last next year giving us pick 1 and them pick 19 in the national draft, and the Dees pick 1 in the PSD, which they will use to snare the best available Crow for free next year!

According to the AFL site, the Swans are mulling over Adelaide's kind offer today. I'm not sure what the hold up in a response is? If they're not happy, then say so. If happy, then finalise. The stakes are getting high as we approach that final day. I hope KB knows what he is doing in drawing this out to the death!

The article also mentioned that Port coach apparently contacted Ladhams to see how keen he was to go the Swans. He apparently said that he was very keen.

I remember that the initial bid was Jesse White and the 1st round pick. Jesse even went down for a medical.

Crows supporters I knew in Sydney were still upset in 2014 that Sydney got Tippett in the pre-season draft.

Paul Roos at the time said that the Giants should have taken Tippett in the 2012 pre-season draft as they had the first pick.
