Yep. Hayward took him to the cleaners in our game and Schacke (not even AFL standard) did a job on him in the prelim final.

I hope the Swans don't ontrade Melbourne's pick for Ladhams as that would be the equivalent of trading Dawson for him and that would hurt. Third in the B&F for a bloke who in all likelihood will spend time in the magoos would be a kick in the guts.
Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.

The scene: The ball is in our defensive 50. A scramble. Quick hands from Lloyd to Cunningham to Rampe who clears a kick from 30m out from goal near the boundary.

The Rat and Heeney are playing against each other on the wing and stationed upfield.

Rampe’s kick clears Heeney, who’s drifted back defensively, and is heading towards The Rat.

But it bounces 5m short of him. It bounces high into the air and hangs above his head.

Heeney is now tracking back to the contest. As he does, The Rat leaps up, with his hands high above his head to grab the ball, exposing his ribs.

As he does, in a perfectly legal tackle but one that only someone who grew up playing rugby league can execute, Heeney drives his left shoulder hard into The Rat’s ribs and pounds him back into the turf.

      Enjoy the ambulance ride, Rat.
      Hahaha classic!

I suggest you revisit last years trade thread. Many of us suggested that we’d handed over an AA defender for a packet of chips

I'm not surprised if Port are asking for that. If they are and I were in charge of the Swans negotiating team, I'd just laugh, pack up and walk out of the door.

I do think our BATNA in this circumstance is stronger than theirs, and I think the trade of Aliir a year ago between the same two teams provides as close as you'll ever get to an equivalent trade guiding "fair" value.
I agree Liz -it was just a comment from about what he thought they were asking for, nothign else.

Still just generally don't like him however

Although, it could be an interesting trading tactic.

"That Ricciuto, he's a bit of knob, isn't he?"

"Yeah, tell us about it. At least you don't have to live in the same city as him."

"Great, now that we agree on that, this is what he reckons we should give you for Ladhams. Of course, with you not being knobs..."

Given that it had already been reported Port would accept 31 plus a swap of first rounders, I read Ricciuto's comments as inciting Port to ask for more: “Port Adelaide will want to get the pick that we just gave Sydney for Dawson”

Have the Swans offered 31 plus a swap of first rounders? If so, they are fools.

Rampe as good as he is, should be our intercepting run off defender. Misused and now its too late.

Go back to end of 2016, Alir was going to anything.

Happy Mccartin over Alir and that Alir someway turned into Hickey but Sydney mishandled Alir

Could be effective - worth a try, given one could argue we didn't do so well with them with Aliir last year (although value was not entirely unfair either imho).

Gosh I hope not. That would be horrendous.

Second rounder and maybe a swap of later picks if there had to be should be the absolute maximum. Take it or leave it - Ladhams could be a good get, but we shouldn't overpay for him at all.

Deal officially done. Dawson to Adelaide for Melbourne's 2022 first round pick.

Not entirely sure what we've offered. Jon Ralph reported yesterday Port would accept 31 plus the pick swap (which works out around pick 23). I presume we haven't offered that or the deal would be done.

Today he says we've presented options to Port which work out around pick 25-30. I can see us offering either the first round pick swap and 39 (worth pick 29) or trying to do a side deal with the Pies to get 27 and 46 for 31 and 39, possibly even chucking 70 in, and giving them 27. So we'd end up with either 16, 31 or 12, 46.

What about Melbourne’s future pick for Ladhams with Port throwing us back their 2022 future 2nd round?

My reading is that its reported that Port put this forward as a trade possibility. I guess the Swans are looking at it carefully and working on a counter?

He's quite an introverted character. Pressure on him to perform and drag the crows off the bottom is going to be intense. I suspect he will soon find out that being the gun recruit in an AFL crazy town is not to his liking.

Since when have we been so bad at trade period? Since Franklin? Since no COLA? Last few years have been terrible
