To be fair, GWS asked for a future 2nd rounder and Dodoro upped his offer accordingly. I think GW$ are now stalling for time to try and find a replacement and will let him go if they do.

I like Dawson as a player, don’t know him as a person. What I do think about him is that he lacks a winning instinct . He could have a stayed at the Swans who have a proven winning culture, are building their list into a positive winning position and have one of the most highly credentialed coaches. He would have been paid well at Sydney as well.

He could have chosen Port, who have a fine recent record of getting into finals, have a young contending list, have a suitable game style and have a coach with has achieved solid results.

He chose a club that has been troubled since 2018. They don’t look like they will be winning contention for a while and their young players are not at Sydney or Port levels. Their coach is largely unproven and has limited time to get strong improvements.

Why chose Adelaide when he could have chosen teams with winning projections like the Swans or Port?

This tells me that he’s making decisions other than on the will to win. He wants to earn good money and be close to family but does he have that ultimate instinct to win a premiership.

Maybe a player who doesn’t have that Brett Kirk, Barry Hall, Adam Goodes or Lance Franklin will to win is better outside the Moore Park Building.

Tend to agree with this BS. I have suspected that despite his stellar form and future potential that he was never a 'true Blood'. I've always found it hard to warm to players who don't celebrate a lot when their team mates get around them, don't show a lot of joy when they or their team does well....I found Jordan a bit like Tom Mitchell. Distant....and not the most joyful 'team mate' and never instilling in us fans a sense of confidence in their loyalty to our club. I wasn't surprised when Mitchell went hunting for money and sadly, I'm not surprised Dawson took the same path. I suppose Judas can try to enjoy playing for those losers....

I'm very much in favour of getting a good ruck of Ladhams' age and experience. But:

* is Ladhams good enough to be our long-term first ruck?

* if he isn't going to be our first ruck long term then Ladhams, McLean and Amartey is one too many - why sign them all?

* why did we re-sign Sinclair? Presumably we weren't expecting to get Ladhams - but what a waste of a list spot!

Very disappointing trade period, especially if we pay a jot more than pick 31 for Ladhams. Worse than past years where we've done nothing and just sat tight.

We've weakened our list and the compensation in cap space and picks is inadequate. We also appear to be in danger of overpaying for Ladhams. ????????

I understand the disappointment.....but do you think that's just a little too negative?
