However, they didn't take into account, that his pace and endurance was compromised by him working full-time as a plumber. Nor it seems, did they take into account, that his athletic ability improved once he started to take time off.
I think something similar happened with Gulden. Early on, I think the opinion was formed, that he was a bit too small to be a top level player. And that opinion didn't change much, even though he grew a few centimetres in his draft year. Hence, bargain for us! I think Leek Alleer might be a similar bargain in this year's draft. Being an over-ager, his wasn't included in the early draft prognostications. Now, even though his form and his athletic prowess suggest that he should be at least a first rounder, most experts are still rating him in the 25-40 range.
