Dawson after his injuries was on fire in the ressies in his third season and looked a jet, he should have made his debut at that time (as we on here told the MC numerous times!) but they kept selecting ? who was never as good as Dawson in the ressies and who eventually got delisted.

The only semi-regular/fringe player that was delisted that comes to mind is Dean Towers.

Agree that Laidler has a pretty hard job. The VFL team is a team thrown together from listed players , top ups from the swans vfl list and then an academy player or two thrown in . They do not train as a single unit so its pretty hard to get cohesion in a team in that circumstance.

The Swans would be focusing on getting what they want out of the listed players and to be honest the others are just their to supplement. I dont think they have any regard for the score.

Sorry but they do. They all train with the senior list. When seniors do match sim most times they will not do but sometimes they do. If Longmire is wanting listed players to learn something then they will not do match sim. But they do so with the whole reserves group, including listed players if not playing seniors. They are all trained in the same strategies. But I find it confusing on match day that Ladler does not seem to follow the script. He seems on a different game plan to Horse. I believe Kennelly was a better coach. Shaw definitely was. I wonder if we can get him back next year?

Hey Ugg do you think that the lack of impact by Stephens could be a "confidence" thing?

Lack of confidence is certainly an aspect of Stephens's game that stands out to me. I thought he's improved on it this year after bulking up, resulting in more confidence in both the attacking and defensive sides of his game, but still looks to be not composed under pressure.

Thanks Ugg- must be Dean Towers. Struggled to 50 games and I was always nervous whenever he got near the ball- unfortunately/fortunately it wasn’t too often! But he always patted the goal scorer very enthusiastically!
I thought that was the best part of his game! Horse would bring him in for a game then drop him the following week.
Once he kicked 3 so he got a reprieve for a week!

You'd imagine hickey would come in this week. Would love to see amartey have an extended crack at it but it's not gonna happen with the current forward set up

Surely Amartey plays ahead of Tortoise McLean. At least Amartey has some ground skills and pace and can change in the ruck.
