I am not surprised. Webster had one kick and one handball against Casey. A two disposal game for a defender in a team that was well beaten does not warrant his retention unless he was injured. VFL stats do not give Time on Ground.Comment

In a team that was comprehensively beaten. I think he's looked solid at VFL level this year for an U18 player. One game doesn't define his worth, not when we're short on height in defence. GC have a couple of dangerous goal kickers in Corbert and Burgess who play as talls but are aren't especially tall. They also have Foggo who I think is an U19 academy player and is a big lump.Comment

One positive is that the emergencies for tonight's game should be available to play on Sunday and so we should have a pretty good number of listed players available even if we've lost Melican and Ladhams. All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)

I wonder if Melican has played his last game for our Club? He still has one year left on his contract so we can force him to stay for depth reasons, but I think he will be ask to be traded at the end of the year. McLean and Gould may also ask to leave because of lack of opportunities, so this could potentially be their last games for the Club. Taylor and Sinclair are definitely going. So the upshot is that a lot of these guys may finish their Swans' careers in front of 100 people in Blacktown unless we lift our Reserves performance this week.Comment
