Amartey didn't hold those marks today. Dropped a lot.
      Callum played heartily .

Hold Coast had some good talls...one stood out..I think he was number 19.

A few errant kicks cost us the match really.

It was a physically intense match.

      Gould our best by miles.

I also gleaned a little gossip about a Gold Coast player who's had talks with the Swans. Another South Australian draftee a pick in the 2018 draft..straight from the mouth of family members in the crowd
Number 19 for GC is Josh Corbett, picked up over 18/19 summer from Werribee as part of the first assistance package, 190cm

As someone else mentioned, we were keen on Jez McLennan in the 2018 draft, went two or three before our second rounder that we then used on Rowbottom.

Can't believe Gould hasn't had a debut after three seasons, would almost certainly be on the Cows and Power radars, we'll get nothing useful for him if he goes

Rhyce , The Conductor - he was bellowing out guidance at the end to help get GC over the line and the mutual affection was clear at the end.

Hi OOTF - Seems to be an issue with your attachments, are they ok for anyone else?

It would've been so good to hold onto Rhyce. I respect him as a coach far more than Laidler.

Based on what facts ? Not trying to be cheeky here but have both coached you ?

Based on my opinion and what I've seen and heard from both. Laidler is uninspiring for me. Rhyce seems more passionate, switched on and genuine. I think the players responded better to him. Laidler seems more robotic and clinical without a lot of tactical nous. Is that fair enough?

Two different roles aren't they (me don't doing any searching)? Shaw was more of a development coach and Laidler an assistant/line coach?

Possibly the case. I'm of the opinion that Shaw is a much better coach than Laidler. I was simply lamenting that he's not in the role Laidler currently holds.

Fair call. I only asked because like a boss at work , seeing what you think someone coaches like is far different to being coached by them. I have no opinion on laidler but the results he has achieved to date are okay without being fantastic albeit he has to deal with a team that week to week can be very different. Its actually a pretty hard role the way the swans run their reserves team - you have probably a core of listed players that are there on a week to week to basis but then a group of top ups that changes , the odd academy kid and then the players who are hovering between firsts and reserves . All of them trying to prove a point for differing motivations.

Hard way to build team cohesion with players that have no idea of the others game styles and maybe why the role is more suited to someone like Rhys who probably is far more passionate in the moment.

Good points. I may be a bit harsh on Laidler, no doubt he's in a difficult role in terms of consistency with the squad. He definitely does not show as much passion but that's not to say he's not passionate. I can't help but feel the younger boys would really appreciate the approach of Rhyce who wears his heart on his sleeve and seems to be more personable.
