I'll also add that I don't think Brisbane have an all-in culture. Players still leave, and a red flag that some players didn't know daniher was having a kid before a prelim.

I think the tough 4th qtr for us will be invaluable for us given the breaks between games.
Cats feel a bit like the 2014 Swans to me, I think we’ll get them with pressure. hopefully Mills annihilates Danger like he did last time and we’ll be well on our way.
The underdog tag suits us as well.He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

Notwithstanding Liz' valid reservations about playing Harry Cunningham due to a lack of AFL level playing time in the past few months, I would consider the following plan to replace an injured Reid:
- Name an unchanged side, with Cunningham in the emergencies.
- Before the game, Reid pulls out and is replaced by Cunningham.
- Cunningham plays in defence against Stengle.
- Robbie Fox replaces Reid in the forward line with the role of locking down on Tom Stewart.
- Fox and Buddy can relieve Hickey in the ruck when needed.
- Name Amartey as the sub, just in case Hickey or a tall forward is injured.
Geelong would be taken by surprise and would shake up their plans for the game.
But knowing Longmire he probably won't disrupt the defence as that would be the key for us to win the game.
He will most likely entrust Hayward to do the job on Stewart and as Hayward can really mark the ball that would make Stewart accountable. Not sure if Clarke has it in him to disrupt an intercept defender may be Clarke is better at tagging running defenders and elite kickers in halfbacks.
McInerney has a big role to play and so has Stephens and Gulden. They will need to cover the hard running Max Holmes, Isaac Smith, Brad Close and Gryan Miers. I wouldn't be surprised if we see Mcinerney spend most of his time in the defensive half next week. He has the speed, the marking ability and the kick to intercept and defend well.
Logan will have to occupy Henry/Kolodjashnij and move them out of the support for Tom Stewart.
We have enough like for like in the midfield except that we are better kicks than their midfield. If we provide enough pressure, they will turnover the ball if they can't run it out with their small outside runners.
It is going to be a fascinating game with lots of subplots !Comment

I dropped in on the open training session at the SCG this morning. Was quite well attended, with a surprising amount of school children in attendance. [I found that surprising because I'm impressed that they can manage the bureaucracy necessary to take out a bunch of school kids with the short amount of notice they would have had.]
The whole thing seemed pretty relaxed, the players especially. I didn't spot Sam Reid but Sam Naismith was participating in some team drills with handballing (non-contact). COR and Marc Sheather were on the sidelines. I asked Colin what the future holds for him and he said he doesn't know but he intends to stay in Sydney and is open to job offers. I thanked him for his excellent contributions to the club and wished him well. Marc said he would be ready to go after rehabbing his injury come pre-season. He was a bit coy about anything more specific.
I also spotted the Chad's younger brothers, Ashton and Troy, together with Logan's younger brother, Connor, in the crowd. They're here to enjoy the GF journey. Ashton said he was sleeping on Chad's couch. Logan's brother, Connor (not to be confused with Connor MacDonald from the Dandenong Stingrays), is hoping to be drafted this year but I fear his prospects might be slim because I can't find much about him online: Connor McDonald | WAFL. As best I can tell he is a 185 cm midfielder for the Perth Demons at Colts level. He was a late call up for the winless U18 WA side. In his favour, it seems that he has a late-year birthday and hasn't yet turned 18. There seem to be a few articles here, but they're all hidden behind a paywall: Search | The West Australian (swtimes.com.au). The Warners and the McDonalds families seem to know each other pretty well, even before Logan and Corey got drafted to the Swans. All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

If we were to win, he is the most important player for what he needs to do on the weekend with regards to gut running and covering in defence and negating their outside run and if he is not 100%, we are in big trouble.Comment

You don't mention in your comments that Connor is, height aside, almost the spitting image of Logan. I found some 'Road to the Draft' material on him a while back, and it's uncanny how similar they are in looks and mannerisms.Comment

An additional interesting tidbit is that apart from 17 year old Connor, Logan also has a twin brother! If his twin plays footy at all, I don't think he's looking to turn pro.All opinions are not equal.
