    Bye bye.
Instead i should cheer and support an insipid and embarrassing performance because that will make it all better, its not like it could happen again is it!

There was quite a few, wasn't there? Obviously didn't make much difference to the overall result, but it wasn't helpful.

Being upset from losing is one thing,
Being livid, and rightly so, by the team not showing up is more than acceptable.

        Disgraceful performance

By all means, get mad. But taking the "macro" view...this team has a lot to look forward to. Most young teams, in all sports, have to lose and sometimes be embarrassed, before they win the whole thing. Let me ask you this, on paper...besides Geelong...who looks better than the Swans in 2023? And I don't believe the trade period is going to alter that...

Loyalty is being willing to stand up and speak up when you need. The standard you walk past is the standard you accept. The standard today was unacceptable and must be called out.

Changes need to be made otherwise what we just saw was acceptable it wasnt!

Losing is fine, playing like that isnt.
You and I have different definitions of loyalty.

I see that McInerney was also injured today. If that is the result of a pre-existing injury, we were a done dinner before the game even started as a result of our own selections.

Well with the game on the line in the 3rd we capitulated.

For me that loss will reverberate within the team for a few years. Possibly the worst I’ve seen us play. We couldn’t control the ball or the general play.

I don’t think there has been a team that’s bounced back quickly after such a comprehensive grand final thrashing

No one would have beaten the Cats today. Disappointed for sure, but if you told me the Swans would make the GF at the start of the year I would have told you that you were dreaming.

Don’t let one @@@@ty game spoil the great season that we had. So much to look forward to with this group. Bright years ahead, mark my words.

Yep really disappointing day but not the time to throw the toys out with the cot

There’s certainly room for some valid criticism but maybe a more considered approach when posting may be appropriate

Am I right thinking Gulden spent most of the game on Smith?

Can’t put my finger on it but the truth is Cats much better team today- unfortunately it happened in the wrong game for us. I’m sure the boys will learn from this sad experience and become better players for it.
                        +1

We are all disappointed and the forum is a place for us to vent. It doesn't mean we don't love the club.

Not sure where we go from here, do we ride the improvement from Mills Warner Rowbottom and hopefully get some input from Sheldrick next year or look at boosting it with trading someone in (no idea who is available)
I think with a bit more muscle next season, Warner will be elite and Rowbottom close to it, while Sheldrick will be a hard at it part of the midfield rotation. With retirements and aging, Geelong might not be able to produce that sort of performance again.

                            This is about right.

Hell, two years ago I thought it’d only be about now we would be contending for the eight, let alone a flag.

Special kudos to Chad and Fox today. Also thought Paps, Rowie and one or two others fought it out.

Oh, and Geelong’s sub in Parfitt had more possessions and goals than Rohan so there’s that.

I can only say that Geelong were far, far superior. I just marvel how good they are.
Very true. And when you play that well, it seems even the bounce of the ball is favouring you.
Lots of things to learn and move forwards. It probably does expose some gaps in our midfield. Not sure how we go about fixing it.
Great game by Chad, Fox and Parker. There were players who just did not thrive under pressure but hopefully they learn from this and get better.
