It’s a small point, but given it’s not a home ground it didn’t seem right
They did. But it was so infrequent that you may not have seen it

It doesn’t explain everything, but there did look to be a bit of this. A couple of our usual high performers looked listless and didn’t get near it much. Not singling them out as they were hardly alone, but you look at the load Mills and Hickey carried last week to get us over the line, versus the output today, and it appeared telling.

As for the crew saying sack Horse, Chris Scott has been a sustained finals failure for 10 years and they got flogged by 80 points in last year’s prelim, so according to your logic, the Cats should have punted him last year.
Said it all year no one would listen , so dont say hindsight

            Just didn’t give a whimper.

I haven’t been through records to check, but 2014 & 22 would be two of the top three losing margins off the top of my head.

How did we have so many players down in one game?

I don’t expect us to make the 8 next year in the vein of Port, Crows and GWS.

We’re starting to build a compelling losing culture it seems.
Champ, everyone is entitled to have an off day. You are throwing the baby out with the bath water. OK our mighty Swans got smashed, but they will be back. Though I must say your attitude is one of a losing mentality. Remember they did a lot right, just not today. Don't kick a dog when they are down

I also don't think we will carry any scars from this GF into next season. Our coaches will be positive about what was achieved this year, and the GF letdown will be the inspiration to get better next year.

I've already forgotten the Grand Final. It's over. It's history. We have an exciting trading and draft period coming up. We should go into 2023 with a better and more experienced side. Something to look forward to.
Agreed Ludwig- but it does take a bit of time to forget this GF. A few scotches will help, I’m sure!

Longmire average losing margin in 3 GF losses is almost 10 goals (55pts) its a pattern there is something wrong

Our biggest losing margin this year before today =24 points

Is it not a reasonable question to ask what is going wrong? I was still positive at half time today..

You’ve said play Gus and Roberts. I think the first will be a serious player, and the second maybe, but to suggest two guys who’ve played three games between them would be the difference today is laughable.

I totally agree. Don't forget we all see what we see on TV.. we do not know how everyone was .. whether they were banged up from the prelim or not. For people to bag the side when they have made a gf (and have a great trajectory in front of them) is very disappointing. I guess they are all einsteins and geniuses. There is not shame losing to a great side.. and for what its worth was the best side all year

Probably one of the benefits of having a young team is that they will most likely bounce back fairly quickly psychologically. It just needs to be spun in the right way- as a learning experience.

It's quite strange, in his presser last week Longmire did not sound at all confident about today. He pointed out that Geelong were a great team, that they finished 2 games above everybody else in the comp and he said he would be telling our players just to enjoy the experience. It just seems that nobody expected us to be in the GF .

John?Longmire made yet another bad call in the GF. The selection of, Sam Reid. How much do you think this, inhibited the Swans youngsters! I think heaps. One of their own was sacrificed for a bloke who was not right. McLean had absolutely no impact on the game and Reid was, subbed out after half time. Longmire, huge stupidity and huge idiocy.

For what it’s worth, my best mate is a Cats fan and even he just messaged me: “side property deals were the winners today”.

Do you want to go another 72yrs without a flag? cause talk like that is what it sounds like, i think any other side would of been more competitive than us today.

                              We were that bad
