Apparently called the Geelong Costa Living Allowance, can't fail real estate ventures. Means you can sign on for less Salary Cap $

Traded for just pick 30 last year so need Melbourne to also pick up some salary if it's going to be a pick in the 20's. Or maybe Grundy is now on an early decline?

It was a weird recruitment decision. Gawn is easily the best ruck in the comp, and they recruited a guy who never displayed an ability to be anything other than a first ruck. That he now needs to learn his forward craft says everything.

Watching the Giants game... HH being burnt by his team mates and he is vusably frustrated.... maybe reading a bit too much into it but i like to think he is ready for a beachside move...

If Grundy leaves Mel i think he will go to port..... would love him in Red and white but sadly i dont see it happening for us.

He’s average. Don’t want him. Plus Ludwig would permanently leave us in disgust.

grundy would be a good get for us. as long as dees pay part of his money. HH also a good get better than backman from west coast.

Does Gould have the tank to be tried as a midfielder? Big unit who kicks well are certainly attributes we could well do with in there, if he could also able to win contested ball.

In regards to Grundy, there has been discussions on SEN if clubs are now trending towards playing makeshift rucks or one good specialist ruck, hence the situation Melbourne now finds themselves with Grundy.

We have Amartey & McLean who can play the makeshift ruck role. The question is whether we see Ladhams or the the developing McAndrew being the quality specialist rucks on the assumption Hickey finishing up at season's end?

Feeling satisfied with Crows losing. Looked good early in season but they have some below average players in their bottom half. Other than Dawson, don't have a damaging mid.

                          Gold Coast nice win.

Cats jumped a heap of those average 5-8 teams last night, now in 5th.

Our draft pick got stronger again. Melbourne making out like thieves as they hold Freo's first and second through the Jackson trade last year, Freo's massive slump down to 15th is gifting the Dees at this year's ND.

Bet they’d much rather still have Jackson.

I don't think the trend towards playing just one specialist ruck is new. I reckon it's been the case (for most teams) for well over a decade. That's why many eyebrows were raised when Melbourne and Grundy chose each other at the end of last season.

Re Gould, I doubt he has the tank to play as a midfielder. And he doesn't kick well. His good kicks look good, but he turns the ball over a lot with misdirected short kicks.

Now that Gus is injured, we could try Gould in midfield or up forward. In all probability his papers are stamped as he hasn’t got a spot in defence, so we may as well find out once and for all. The thing is, we should be able to beat Freo this week so we’ll pick the strongest team possible. And Wicks will retain his place!????
