A big yes to Tom Greene. He's an excellent player and doesn't have the same grub status as the other Green.

Foregone were the additions of any KPPs in the ND for 2 years running, which left a hole in our defence this year.

This big-bodied midfielder will have to be pretty big, quick ane skillful, because it's not clear to me who gets killed out of our midfield when he comes in. Nor is it clear to me what the destinies will be for Sheldrick, Roberts, Corey Warner and HHK, who have all shown enough to project a future at AFL level.

I also suppose we will add Cleary to our list this draft.

4 of the top 10 contested ball winners are shorter than 180 cm. We all lament not taking the small bodied 7th highest contested ball winner Caleb Serong instead of Stephens in the draft.

The body size seems to have less to do with winning the ball than other factors, which we can mull over for a while as to what that is.

If we are still looking for a big-bodied midfielder, one has to wonder what we were doing the past 2 drafts.

As for me, I'm stuck on finding key defenders. The rest will take care of itself.
I agree wholeheartedly with Ludwig again.
I'd merely add that when we shifted JPK out of the centre so we could include Mills, RWO was awash with explanations that Mills (at 6ft2) would be our new big-bodied-mid.
      It's all very confusing.

All valid points but we got monstered by Cats midfield in GF.

You certainly go big on HHK who hasn't even made the emergencies list yet. I don't want to be a curmudgeon, but I suspect he might be delisted come October.

It doesn’t really change your point but HHK was emergency in R3

              You are being a curmudgeon.

I don't know if you are a follower of our VFL games, but if you are, tell us what you think of HHK.

Hopefully we're all in for Barass now - 1st and 2nd round pick and they can throw in Elliot Yeo for next year's third rounder. Those few times WCE have looked competitive this year, it's been on the back of Yeo's sheer will-power. Might not have much left in the tank but we won't need it for long.

Do we need different personnel in there or a change in structure / method? Sam Mitchell has turned his midfield around without Mitchell / OMeara. With the right midfield coach can we not do the same?

P.s. I have high hopes for our wide-bodied mid

Yep. I follow the VFL. If HHK as impressive as you say why hasn’t he played seniors when for half the year we’ve had half the team injured.

Watch highlights of each VFL game. Way more time and space during the game. Makes it difficult to form judgement on players.

                        Same.

Lachie Neale has been one of the best midfielders in the comp for five years, and look at the size of him. That little turd Liberatore is one of the best clearance players there is, plus a world class thrower.

You watch Sheldrick - his ability to position his body, and use his leg power to create space over the ball to advantage himself is seriously first class. It’s instinctive, and helps him burrow through a pack to feed it out. And I get size can help you do it the way JPK had it, or Cripps does. But it’s not the exclusive domain of taller blokes.

And as for a big bodied mid, we do have Mills, but Horse seems reluctant to park him in there week after week.

The biggest big body mid is .... Brodie Grundy.
