I don't agree with this. They didn't influence the result in the end, but they definitely influenced the game. Collingwood got away with a lot - especially Cox, who was allowed to do whatever he wanted in marking contests all day long. Could easily have given away four or 5 frees for blatant holding, including a couple during plays that led to goals.

I think most of the comments would be aligned to the clubs expectations of itself after last year.....no one at Sydneys new headquarters would be saying we over achieved last year so lets have a breather. Sick of being told the players are trying their best too, I expect nothing less from professionals.

Players at Monday reviews would be getting hit between the eyes when falling short of expectations.

I dont think any fan is over the top with what they are witnessing here. There are no guarentees with age we will be anywhere in due time.

Long story short, injuries havent helped the season but we should be above 3 and 5 having only beaten Gold Coast, Hawks and Richmond. I didnt read many of the pre season forums but i bet the above wasnt mentioned for 2023 goals

Agree kicking for goal has been dreadful in a number of games we've lost and if we'd nailed shots we should have, then the pressure on all the team would be less during games. Had games won but lost momentum, other games inexplicably uncompetitive.

We do not play in a vacuum. there are 18 teams in this league all trying to win, every week there are nine losers, we're having that more often this season, accept that things do not always go as we'd all like.

Analysis and opinion we all like to read, it's why we attend RWO. Unfortunately there are some more extreme comments that are best not read. We all support the club passionately but let's be level headed and realistic about what is happening.

I haven't watched the full game yet but will do so in the next few days. From what I saw Parker was being a beast and Errol was Errol Everywhere.
Errol was BOG by a long way. McInerney also had a much better game, and Clarke did a great job on N. Daicos again. Parker and Mills were mighty, and Rowbottom also had a good game.
Regarding the umpiring, they weren’t the reason we lost, we did that ourselves by blowing our chances. But they were inconsistent and clearly umpired to the crowd, and probably in reaction to the raw deal Collingwood got last week. Blatant holds and throws were completely ignored, while holding the ball has a new interpretation every time the whistle is blown. Four umpires are just adding to the inconsistencies and subjective nature of their decisions.

          Both sides struggled with kicking.

Campbell just keeps growing doesn't he. I've been seriously impressed. There was a play in the third quarter where the scores were relatively level and the Pies turned a ball over and swarmed through the middle. Campbell was on Elliott, who knew it would eventually be two on one and raced off towards the goal square. Campbell made the call to leave him be, use his pace to sprint 30m and nail Mihocek in a tackle at the 50m arc, before he could get the ball through. It was a great defensive play and strong tackle. There's still a lot of upside to Campbell's game, but he's getting a lot right and did a terrific job on McCreery yesterday.

There were a couple of plays from Campbell where he made a great to decision to leave his opponent and was able to influence the contest.

I really thought we played better than the pies which was encouraging given I thought we’d get flogged.

I was clear thinking we’d miss the finals this year after the belting from the GF but hopefully our best is not far away. Look no further than Guldens goal kicking this year to see the hit to our confidence levels.

There was a play in the 4th that I thought summed up our day - we played the ball out confidently from the back, beat their press and had Buddy & I think Heeney streaming back goal side of their opponent.

The pass to Buddy was mis hit and went OOB. We did the hard work but couldn’t capitalize

first time in a long time we had very few passengers

Gulden plays heaps better out wide
                Mills heaps better inside
                Mclean had a good crack
                Fox Unreal
Blakey, Ollie Campbell awesome out of defence
Parker best game in a while
                Jmac better, Clarke good
                Ladhams good

                Usuals Tom, Lloyd etc

Still reckon Francis needs to play defence with Paddy out and Gould not playing.

Thought we played well enough to win it if we'd kicked straight. I hope Sheather is OK, he looks like he could be AFL standard.

I'd be stunned too, given that Laidler now coaches at GWS.

Poor accuracy and conversion has been a problem all season and yesterday specifically cost us any hope of beating the pies.

it is a major problem given so many have been in fairly easy set kick areas

it has punished us in the games were other stats have been fairly strong

Also cost us the games against Port and GWS.

Our start didnt help but poor kicking also ruined our Melbourne game, we missed easy, they kicked everything
Also got run over in the last qtr

No....I'm saying you're not handling the loss well and being petulant.....so grow up and stop lashing out at our players. It has nothing to do with the fact that I didn't watch the game.
