Yes, I've heard of Sydney people who have moved to Adelaide as unfathomable as that is. Maybe some effort could be
expended to try and track them down and offer them as much counseling and mental health support as they need.
It's entirely possible the sign was a cry for help and being surrounded by thousands of Port supporters is probably the
last thing this poor lost soul needs.

Lol, Adelaide’s not THAT bad ...... (says a ‘born-in-Adelaide’ woman).

Yep, point being that the swans origin/identity was fabricated. So I don't think we should mock the neighbours on that score. A thread pops up every couple of years, and participants now recognise the situation for what it is. It doesn't affect their love for the Swans.

It's instigated by the Giants. They keep referring to us as South Melbourne. Our social media hit back at them after we beat them.

I follow all those threads because history is a major interest of mine. I don't recall one in which anyone alleged that "the Swans' origin/identity was fabricated". I don't know what you mean. Our origin is well-known.

mmm.... that will be someone in the GWS media dept who thinks they are being funny. It's probably not a biggie. Besides
"the joke" will be lost on a lot of their supporters who are relatively new to footy. It will be lost on some of our supporters
too, who also wouldn't have the foggiest idea that the Swans used to be based in Melbourne.

Collingwood coach Craig McRae and GWS coach Adam Kingsley are former workmates, spending two seasons together assisting Richmond’s Damien Hardwick.

Looking back…… what a pair of Ace’s as your lieutenants marshalling your troups to success and then again to the edge of success leading their own clubs.

I think we can let the Giants make the claim of 'Sydney born'. They were formed from day 1 as a Sydney club,.a number of people in Sydney wanted them created, and all clubs are born or killed based on the AFL boardroom, so that's not a valid argument. From Freo to Fitzroy.

The swans take pride in the 2 cities 1 club ethos, so we can't have it both ways.

The point is, neither team can make that claim. But only one tries to, as a way of portraying themselves as the more "authentic" one. It's just silly.

Man, who would have thought a person at a footy game with a homemade sign trying to have a voice could be so divisive ?

For sure. Both had been assistant coaches at a number of clubs serving their apprenticeships for a long time before getting the big gig.
