Greene and Bailey hardly buckled at the knees. If your lower a couple of centimetres now, you get nothing. Gone way too far the other way. Tackler has to have some responsibility to go for hips etc. AFL has a genius for making fools of themseves.

Fair enough, but I saw it differently.

I don’t like our players doing it either, and partly because I reckon one is gonna get twisted the wrong way and do a knee. You watch players who do it - they get their legs and knees into risky positions.

I think the so called interpretation by different umpires on the field was evident at the weekend. I believe umpire no. 12 (Stephens missed the Greene high tackle and one other) when right on the spot. To me they were clearly frees. Try avoiding a tackle and not slightly bend your knees.

In the other game a clear high tackle on a Brisbane player was ignored, then down at the Carlton end, umpire Stevic correctly paid a free for a similar high tackle to a Carlton player. It wasn't Stevic's fault for the inconsistency. Maybe Toby's non free was because the poor tackle was by the lad who can do no wrong.

                2023 Finals Series

Lol, those of us who have been through the GF ticketing bun fight can laugh at this. Mind you I realise how much worse it is this time with Collingwood having 100,000+ members.

https://Collingwood fans up in arms ... ticket ballot

Lol this is even better report. Love one of the BTL comments: “Excuse me while I go find my tiniest violin.”

And this might be the best.

“that’s the drawback of barracking for the most heavily-supported team ….. You get to walk around with a sense of superiority ….. look down on rival teams with half the fans, and never get spoken about as a potential relocation to Tasmania target by the AFL, but you’ll also find the queue longer and demand higher for the biggest matches.”

Yep, it's the same with really popular concert tours. The sense of entitlement followed by outrage when they realise they are in a
very very long queue with all the other punters and will probably miss out whilst grumbling about the ticket prices the whole
time. Sorry, but on which tablet of stone does it say you can go to every event you want at a price you like. Babies.

I thought it was a result of him changing direction - but that's just a matter interpretation.
The bit I couldn't get over, was that as the ball spilled free Daicos' clothesline tackle became a headlock to keep Toby on the ground - and stop him rejoining the play.

The version I saw had Daicos' arm outstretched around Toby's neck and Toby's head completely disconnected from his
body and the words "PLAY ON". It's pretty funny.
Re the buckling of the knees thing, I think the real giveaway is when particular players (a lot of them had the surname
Selwood) get way more free kicks from high tackles from the average player. Tho' I think the umps are a wake up now
to the likes of Errol, Papley and Toby and whats his name from the Western Bulldogs.... Weightman. And so the danger
for them now is the "boy that cried wolf" scenario and they end up not being paid legitimate high tackles like the one
on Toby. They sorta can't have it both ways.
The other things is, it sort of follows that the more umps there are out there the more inconsistency there will be with
their decisions. It's like no one at AFL House has thought of that.

The Collingwood Football Club have been silent on this issue. Perhaps the stuff up is based on poor communication with Ticketec from Collingwood in the first place. They were allocated 17,000 seats of which 5,000 should have gone to Tier1 members leaving the balance for the rest.
Other clubs have managed to do this in past years.

Collingwood are the ones that sold these "Premiership Club" type memberships, and they are the ones that received the funds
from selling them. If they can't deliver what they promised then they need to refund this money. You know it's like you sell
somebody something freight included and then it goes AWOL. Blaming Davo the truck driver isn't good enough. You took the
money for it, promised them it would be delivered, and it wasn't.
GF tickets cost $500, and then the clubs charge a few hundred at the start of season to "guarantee" members the right
to buy one of these $500 tickets in the unlikely event the team will make the GF. Ticketek make about $7 on the transaction.
The AFL, the MCC and the clubs make from $493 to $993. Yet somehow they are never to blame for anything that
goes wrong. It's always the $7 guys fault. And Ticketek probably got the contract to sell tickets at the MCG because
Ticketmaster wanted to work for $7.50.

Can ANYONE give me a simple explanation of why the 85,000 tickets left over after the AFL allocates 15,000 to corporate groups and sponsors can't ALL be allocated to competing club members? Why only 34,000?
