Whoever Chad's agent is, I can't imagine he won't be whispering into his ear about maximising the value of his contract (and his commission) TBC.
Whether that's the determining factor is unknown.
One would hope the presence of his brother at the club (contracted to the end of next year) might lesson the pull of Fremantle.

Twomey's Top 30 for July up on the AFL website. Looks like we won't be picking until the mid 20's with F/S, academy and now NGA matches pushing us out, plus the reported shenanigans to give Saints a Band 1 pick for Josh Battle who is touted to be heading to Hawthorn!.

We can only hope the AFL has the guts to fix the farcical points table to force those matching bits to pay a fair price and not the bag of junk picks used to obtain, JUH, Darcy, N Daicos and Ashcroft.

Twomey has Levi Ashcroft (Brisbane) as pick 1!

I've been worried about Luke Parker's commitment for next year over the last few weeks, after hearing Gettable podcast suggesting he might be open to explore his options. Then Clarko mentioning Luke as one of his possible experienced player targets

Luke himself has been coy when asked, remarking he's focusing on the finals. Similar response from Longmire, despite mentioning how important Luke is to the team right now.

Luke is contracted for next year, so why doesn't he and club (Longmire).just simply say he's not going anywhere? This breeds speculation. He is a champion of our club & can't stand the thought of him finishing elsewhere. Still playing great footy & rate him much highr than Adams who's been ok.

Luke was the same prior to re-signing last time. Worry about it when if it happens. Ultimately it’s beyond our control as supporters anyway. And many club greats have gone to other clubs in the twilights of their glittering Swans careers. The majority of them are still Swans at heart and we had their best years

It looks like Ladhams will be on his way out.. If he does leave, we will not get much for him (3rd rounder at best?)... I wonder whether the list management team have formed a decision re keeping Ladhams (and spending 450K plus on him) or will we let him go and fast track Will Green along with McAndrew? I suppose that it depends if other clubs come in for him

We should keep him unless we get some good trade value for him, we need a ruck in the VFL to provide hit outs and structure for the other developing players. He was decent in 2022, he just needs a run of games when Grundy is injured, or to bide his time as he is still quite young for a ruck.

Fast track? Rucks are a pretty hit and miss prospect as far as developing them to quality. How many have we drafted and developed ourselves? How many have we drafted and then let go before they then flourished at another club?

His manager John Meesen was on one of the AFL website shows.. gettable i think. The manager said he "maybe" expects Ladhams to switch clubs and be "flexible" (i think that word was used) in the upcoming trade period. If your manager says these things I think it is a fait accompli that he will be out. We need all the $$ we can get to keep The Chad

I agree with the difficulty to fast track .. that is difficult to do.. but one was is to get them to play a few games (not at where we are at the moment). Over the past say 20 years we drafted and let go... Darcy Cameron and Toby Nankervis ... we developed them and they have come on leaps and bounds at Col/Rich respectively. Also maybe even Greg Stafford to Richmond.. there was a fellow who went to Hawthorn.. his name escapes me (Farrell?), who also had decent wraps on him.

Having said this, rucks do take a long time to mature generally. The outliers are English and Grundy when he was young and maybe even Darcy.. though he is more of a forward.

Sydney has been typically a club that has done the same to other clubs, and we have done ok.. think Darren Jolly, Shane Mumford, Callum Sinclair, Brody Grundy.. (I'm ignoring Tom Derrickx and Chambers here)

Mike Pyke was very good all things considered

Stephen Doyle 47 games in 8 years

Daniel Currie 10 games in 10 years on AFL lists (including 0 games from 5 years on our list)

Jake Orreal, Earl Shaw, Sean McLaren, Michael Knoll, Kyle Galloway 0 games each

Seaby was briefly serviceable & Tippett was great when he was good, Spider also good given he was at the tail end
                          of his career

I wouldn't be all that bothered if we traded Ladhams out. He can look a decent player at times, but I'm a bit over his tendency to do stupid @@@@. And I'm not just talking about the suspendable incidents. It's also things like, the choosing of options that are bit too ambitious, tapping the ball straight to opposition mids and motivating opponents with his silly behaviour.

While McAndrew still needs to improve his forward craft, he does seem to win more taps than Ladhams. He also lays more tackles and is better at harassing opposition mids. And while I've never actually counted, my impression is that we win more clearances when McAndrew is rucking.

And in regards to Green, he's definitely promising, but it's a bit hard to tell whether he'll be ready for a promotion next year. If management decides we need a bit more depth, then it probably wouldn't be too hard to find and rookie list some mature ruckman who's been doing well in the VFL.

Although the need for that, might depend on whether Jack Buller is retained, after spending much of the season injured? In his first season, he showed that he was a quite good chop out ruck, as well as being a promising KPF. So I'd quite like to see him given another chance, but we haven't got too many obvious delists, so he might be unlucky?

That being said, it might be hard to find a useful trade for Ladhams. Like, is there any real point trading for a pick in the forties, if we're just planning to use our two first round picks and match a late bid for Joel Cochran?

Wouldn't hurt to hang onto him for another year. Can play well at senior level.

Though now that I think of it, trading for a 2025 pick would make sense, since we have three academy prospects, Carmichael, Chamberlain and King, who could potentially attract first round bids.
