Based on his performance against Port, Ladhams career at the Swans is over. There have to be better options for the future

I’m torn on Ladhams. I think he ‘can’ play in between the silly moments. And I’m going to give him a mulligan on the Port game, as the idea he was to blame that night ….
I also wonder if Grundy got injured, if McAndrew could yet carry an extended load, as much as I think he’s improved. Green isn’t ready yet and that’s fine; he’s still a kid.
And we are a team coming right into a decent window.
But you can’t have list cloggers either and he risks becoming that.Comment

Just looking at Stringer's stats, I was a bit surprised that he kicked 42 goals this season, as the times that I've seen he's been pretty terrible. Spraying easy shots, not running hard, and trying the difficult, when the simple option probably would have been better. So, I'm pretty indifferent to any prospect of him signing with us. And since Essendon are apparently only offering him a one year contract, they're probably also not too fussed if he signs or not.Comment

No from me on Stringer. He is a yearly watch at his age & not worth risking any multi year contract. Not our greatest need to risk our cap space in continuing re-signing our young guns (Chad is our next priority). Rather give Jack Buller a go up forward.Comment

With McDonald, McLean and Amartey - and even occasionally Grundy - where would you fit another tall forward (let alone a 30 year old who averages less than 2 goals a game). If you want insurance stick with Buller and Hamling who are thus far content to bide their time in the twos until called uponComment

Should we look at Stringer ... yes absolutely given he is on market and potentially offers something different. But should we take him, probably not - with Age, Lack of Professionalism being the 2 reasons why not. If this was 2 years ago, I would have said yes - He was playing a mid-forward role akin to De Grey. He probably is able to do so in bursts but probably looks like his body is cooked and he doesnt seem to have the same commitment now.Comment

At the time he was recruited, the expectation was he'd play in the guts and fix our clearance problems. He left the Magpies because that's what he felt was his position. But his CPA numbers are minisucle and he's prerry much playing as a half forward here too.

Stringer would be a time limited upgrade for Amartey, who can also (when fit) have some explosive midfield minutes.
But we need all the dollars we can get out hands on, as Warner will get monster offers next year.
Some commentators are suggesting Freo should name an offer for Corey Warner too, as that would make it more attractive for Chad to also make the move!!Comment
