Ditto, except I was 5 years younger. Trading Will for pick 4 wouldn’t break my heart, though.

Pick 14 or thereabouts is what we would hope to get for Hayward in a straight swap.

Hayward would want a bigger role. He’s the 4th forward lodged between the potential superstar in Logan and the superstar small forwa in Tom Papley.

He’s got the attributes of being a very good AFL midfielder. This point has been highlighted by Kane Cores who’s strong opinions are respected across the AFL.

It would be quite easy for a team to offer more midfield time and more money.

He needs to vary his game from a 4th marking, high pressure forward.

He won’t get midfield minutes at the Swans and needs to find midfield minutes elsewhere.

Is he a midfielder or wants to be one ? Surely as long as he has been at the Swans he has had opportunities to get to the midfield ?

He is a forward and based on the last few weeks our forward line is ripe for the picking if he wants to the star.

No idea whether he wants to or could be a midfielder, but Longmire doesn’t exactly hand out opportunities for players to play out of his preferred position

Have a look how long it’s taken for Mills and Heeney to be given a go in the midfield

Not sure about his ability as a midfielder. Just speculation at the moment.

I don’t think Hayward has the tank to play midfield. He often holds the ball up after taking a mark around the wing area gasping for breath . Not a knock on him as he runs himself into the ground most games but continued repeat efforts in the midfield is a whole different ball game .
Who would he come in for anyway ? We already have a natural midfielder in Roberts running around in the backline . Let alone Parker still to join the midfield rotation.
Could easily see Hayward leave as we won’t be able to match the $$ the Adelaide clubs will offer . He either stays for less than his perceived market value or heads home .

Hayward and Florent are joined at the hip. Either both stay or both go to the cashed up Adelaide Cows. Port are not in the market, no spots on field and no spare $.

No point worrying about these things, we have a flag to win in the meantime!

I think the parents' thing was him having a laff cos mum was in the car with him at the time he's doing the call - what else is he going to say? May yet go but this smacks of opportune journalism.

Hey Liz, are you also Liz on Big Footy, who suggested to the Crows that they look at Ladhams and Francis as trade targets, and that they unfortunately just missed out on Stephens? Very funny stuff!

Stephens not setting the world on fire at Norf. We may have robbed them in that trade

Twomey - who’s usually all over this stuff and been hinting this is where it will head - reporting Gulden’s deal is imminent and likely to be four years, taking him through to FA. Fingers crossed.
