If fitness is not an issue, in that we think what ever ails Konstanty will come good, I would prefer to keep him another year to. Another low draftpick won't help us much anyway.

Maybe if we were able to get Garcia we would have let go of Konstanty. I can't understand why the Dogs were hesitant on Garcia. He's a really good player.

I think it's worth a look at delisted North player Curtis Taylor
We got the wrong players, without a doubt. And I love watching Cowan play. His was a strange oversight given how much we usually go for character and leadership, which was strong in his junior years.

But I totally exonerate the club on Weddle. We really wanted him but he made clear in interviews he wasn’t leaving Victoria. It was at the Bailey Smith/Cyril Rioli level. He was blatant about it. And it comes usually with a side comment from their manager that if you recruit him against his will, I won’t just walk him back to Victoria in a year or two, but that other deal you might be interested in with a player I manage just died.

GWS have been more transparent about what happens than we have, but it happens. And the AFL won’t do a goddamn thing about it because they’re pathetic.

And don’t forget Tanner Bruhn - the most unexcited draftee in the history of football…I’ll just train with theses guys for a couple of years then go home to Geelong. FFS

Earlier in the thread, I was wondering if Gold Coast still had access to Darwin as an NGA zone. According to an article currently on the AFL site, they don't. Apparently with North about to lose Tasmania as their NGA zone, they're lobbying for that to be replaced by Darwin. I'm not sure who currently has Darwin, because when I clicked on the AFL's NGA access map, the result came up as "mixed". The rest of the Northern Territory is divided up between Essendon, Geelong, Hawthorn, Melbourne and Collingwood, so perhaps Darwin is divided up between them?

This article is suggesting if the Dan Houstan trade to Collingwood goes ahead, Port will end up with Gold Coast's pick 13 which Collingwood would have received as part of the John Noble trade.

Port would then likely trade pick 13 for our picks 19 & 22, giving them 3 picks in the top 25.

We must have someone particular in mind if we're willing to exchange 1793 points for 1212?

Glad someone brought up the points value, thought it seemed overs on gut and now face value.

Makes no sense is a supposed deep draft and the way we draft, the bloke we want is probably rated 40 anyway

Would be stoked if Warner was signed and they make Freo play hard ball with Bolton only to announce Warner's extension next week

Not to mention 176 cm and 67 kg, as most of our first choices seem to be.

We should chase Barrass again, now Hawks have no picks

A summary of Swans' trade talk.

A deal for Parker not close to finished. North Melbourne: negotiations are a "fair way apart". Sydney: Looking to strike a balance. Trade Talk

Bombers and St Kilda are considering Konstanty, hoping the Swans delist him so they can get him for free.

Swans looking to trade picks 19 and 22, with these picks considered "highly sought after". Could be traded for Gold Coast's pick 13 somehow, or traded for later picks, or swapped for future picks. Inside Trading

I would still try to steer parks to Richmond for either pick 10 or 14.At 10 it woudl rate Luke at pick 35 is we give up our pick 22 or pick 39 if we give up pick 19. Or at a cost of pick 14 to Ricmond for our 19 =54/55 ffor Luke or pick 49 giving up our 22 rates Luke at 49. With Lukes leadership ability and the lack of it now at tigers if all expected trades go thru an ideal sot richmond. Wee could maybe pay a little of Lukes salary for 2025 and through in Kostansy for zilch.

bnow nth has apparently knocked back our suggestion of pick 234 for Luke, seems like they want to dominate, so why not approach richmond.

Seems ridiculous that North want to play some sort of hard ball, by offering us the unattractive pick 62 for Parker. Essentially, if they don't improve their offer, we forego a pick we don't really want and get to keep Luke Parker for another year.

Didn't someone suggest Parker's departure is a salary dump?

They did so on Fox Footy Trade Day last night, that we need to bank Parker's $800k to help retain Chad and that we should accept pick 62 as a goodwill gesture for everything Parker has done as a champion of our club.

Parker & Chad have a year remaining on their contracts, so i can't understand the logic of needing to desperately dump Parker now for Chad.

Plus North have offered Parker a 3 x$800k contract which pick 62 does not closely reflect.

Someone may have said that, but that doesn't mean that it's true. My guess that if that was the case, then we might be shopping Parker around? Rather than what appears to be the case, that North gave him an offer that was better than our existing offer.
