Both Hamling and Adams are puzzles. The assumption on RWO was that we grabbed them to help the defence and the midfiled respectively - yet neither were used much in their respective areas. Maybe they were insurance? Or just underperformed?Comment

Reckon we recruited them for depth given how horrific our injury list was last year. This year we were brilliant for two thirds of the season without many missing.Comment

The view on DGB in parts of recruiter land was different to draft board land. A fair few had queries on whether he had/would have the size, athleticism and growth to match KP talent in the AFL. My understanding is the Swans had him outside their top 10. The worry was he was never going to play true KP as a defender and didn’t have the assets to play intercept and rebound. It has turned out to be the case. He’s had injuries, but even when fit has turned in average VFL performances. A mate who is a Hawks fan and watches all their ressies matches is resigned to him being a dud.
Some blokes just don’t have the special sauce needed to even be a respectable AFL player. He looks like one, sadly for him.
We have got some draft picks wrong, but avoiding him was correct. (We desperately wanted Weddle two years later, but he pulled the crap of refusing to leave Victoria.)

195cm, could be a Teddy Richards for usComment

Yes, from what I can gather from Hawks fans, they thought that if he could bulk up, then he could be a decent KPD, but that didn't happen. Or they thought if he could improve his speed and stamina, then he might become a rebounding third tall, but that didn't happen. Hawthorn also tried him as a forward, but he didn't kick many goals. The view on DGB in parts of recruiter land was different to draft board land. Correct. He can mark, but that’s got to come with something else, and it hasn’t.

Good. Least the Kangas can do is throw in a packet of chips and a chicko roll. Seriously though, Parks is worth a second rounder. There's plenty of football left in him, not to mention the onfield experience and leadership he'd provide.Latest on Luke Parker trade: North Melbourne offered pick 62, Swans said no. Maybe we should have a word tin Nannma ears they will need experience more than North who are trying to screw us (maybe for the deal we did for Styephens) Richmond have a bounty of draft picks and maybe just maybe they could do with Parks and offer something far better than pick 62. perhaps one of the picks in the high teens we were interested in Suns pick 13 and surely they need some esperience.

I think Richmond are looking to the draft, preparing for a complete rebuild. They already have 3 highly paid experienced mids in Taranto, Hopper and Prestia, so don't think Parker helps them much.
As stated last week, we will be lucky to get pick 40, now up to 44, I think. Maybe we can get this pick. It would be fair.Comment

North may be hesitant to offer pick 44 because the Swans have shown they are deadly at the draft with picks around the 40 mark.
I'm kidding of course, but the draft history is true. Some players Swans drafted with picks around that range: O'Loughlin (pick 40, 1994), Goodes (pick 37, 1997), Parker (pick 40, 2010), Chad Warner (pick 39, 2019)."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

What an insult. Seriously, "tell 'em they're dreaming"....and the Swans did, thankfully.Latest on Luke Parker trade: North Melbourne offered pick 62, Swans said no. Source: Afl Twitter (X)
North have to start living in the real world.Comment

it seems to me that North and Parks’ management were talking before the GF. Now I understand a player needs to look at his future and secure an attractive deal, but surely this would have had an unsettling effect as there were rumours flying and he came out with wanting a trade straight after the GF. Is it possible that some players or most likely then the whole team knew that he wanted to leave? This could explain, though of course only in part, a drop in their confidence. Maybe I’m clutching at straws but I’m not happy the way it happened. I want to screw North for a great pick otherwise we keep him!
