Notes: Strongest VFL team of the year. Mills playing with Lachie Hunter is a little odd. Green gets a chance as primary ruck. Paton starts on the bench?!

Why is Mills playing with Hunter odd?

Certainly it's a team that suddenly has a lot of senior AFL experience - Adams, Hunter, Mills are all highly seasoned players, McLean is lightly seasoned. Shame that we've lost Shipley.

Only in the sense that 2016 GF combatants are playing together, presumably for the first time, in a VFL game at 3.35pm on a Friday. No issue in context where Hunter seems to be on our VFL list and Mills is returning from injury.

He has been very good- can we get him on our AFL list? Maybe the mid year draft?

I've seen enough - get Mills into the seniors already.

              He's crushing it

Mills had about 700 possies in the first quarter. Most were the result of his elite hands at stoppages, so no clear view on how he's covering the ground, as I was only watching on the stream. But he can't be doing any more in tight.

Mills was moving around the ground really well in that quarter and picked up 12 disposals. Adams and Ben Edwards were also doing pretty well in the middle. Buller is looking quite sharp in attack. Paton getting plenty of it; but I'm not sure if that's a good thing?

He does make some frustrating clangers, doesn't he? On the other hand, Hunter doesn't really look fit, but usually uses the ball well.

Pretty good second quarter. A few strong marks.

He taking a couple of marks, but has been average.Same story for Buller. Without Mills and Taylor they would be about 6-7 goals behind. Backline very weak. Paton cannot kick and Snell is getting outmarked several times. But 18 disposals and a goal to Mills is impressive.

Mills and Adam’s have been good, the rest of the AFL listed players the recruiters want to be having a look at themselves they look really really ordinary and Hayden looks like he’s either cracked the @@@@s or is that far out of form. I can see why players like Haywood, Lloyd, Rampe, Florent don’t get dropped.

Should change if Mills and Adams are healthy
