How about we just keep all of our picks and draft the best young talent from what is rated a very good draft

yep, O'Loughlin, Matthews, LRT, Leo and Crouch should all be negotiable. Either for existing emerging talents or draft picks.

Hey, anyone reckon that Scott Stevens bloke would be a nice recruit for CHB? He played well there for the Crows this year.

I really would like to get Polak. Pleassse. No doubt he has talent, he has versatility, he just needs some discipline - Which is something the Swans provide, no doubt, as welll as a chance to prove himself, which Sydney will do too - See Chambers, Ted.

You don't trade O'Loughlin. There is no point trading LRT. Crouch is necessary.

In this article down the bottom it says
"Roos did declare the club's first and second round picks off-limits in any trade negotiations in the coming month"

This may mean that we will have to say goodbye to players if we wish to secure a big name like everitt

I wouldn't go for Everitt if we have to give up anyone other than Chambers or draft pick.

He is a good player but he is already 32 (i.e short term solution)

SEN radio this afternoon. Mail is Everitt moves out of his home this week and is off to Sydney. Over the line on a 3 or perhaps 4 year contract.

If he comes to us he goes to a completely different culture than he has been involved with before. There would surely be a heap of provisos in his contract to make sure he complies with the Bloods culture and discipline. He knows it is his last chance to earn big bucks and respect in footy, and win a flag.

4 years? Surely not! The club would have rocks in its head (which I don't believe they do)

                  Novel but appealing idea.

As i said in a previous post
He has only been offered a 1 year deal by the swans,so he wont be coming
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

Believe it was Tiffany Cherry. I think it was more of a Robert Walls type figure, you know the old 2,3,4 years. More likely 2/3.

If he was offered only 1 at Hawthorn why would he even talk to us about 1 year. 2 years is the most likely offer from a mutitude of clubs.

I understand that the Swans have changed there tune and revised it to a 1 year offer, from a previous 2 or so.

If so probably has a further 1 year option. It is the worst kept trade secret of all time. He is coming for sure.

I've heard a bunch of ludicrous suggestions in this thread so far - with all due respect to our esteemed posters, I think our devotion to the Swans tends to overvalue some of our players, and undervalue some possible targets.

If we want to get decent names in a trade, we can't possibly use Crouch, Barry, Mathews, et al. They play a role for us, but would be of limited use elsewhere. If we are serious about recruiting a gun midfielder, or a decent KPP, we have to think about names like Jude Bolton, Ryan O'Keefe etc.

To attract class, we need to OFFER class.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Agree sort of,but for one minute you cant believe that they would trade B1 or Rok not a hope in hell would that happen, unless it was for some one like Judd or Kerr. Then i still think they wouldnt trade Rok.IMO
