So, Dempster was added in as a favour to Ross Lyon and to give Dempster more opportunities. I hope Roos realises that deals should be done in the interests of the club rather than helping a mate strengthen a rival club.

Stop defending Schneider. He had a great 2003 but has NOT come on at all.

The lasting legacy of Adam Schneider is of somebody so devoid of confidence that he could not kick the footy 30 metres against Hawthorn (that in a side that won by 10 goals, mind you).

He has had enough chances to succeed at the Swans. He is a hog who rarely goes in & gets the hard footy. Does not finish off the opportunities he has. Has often very untidy skills, which for somebody who showed us so much in 2003 is very disappointing.

Maybe a change of club would be good for him. Because he has exhausted the chances given to him at Senior level at Sydney. Lacks in fitness & is just disgraceful when he is down on confidence.

He is well worth trading.

I'll admit Schneidz and Dempster are no game-breakers, but BOTH FOR PICK 26! Surely Dempster alone could've got us pick 26. This makes absolutely no sense at all!

The Mattner and Playfair trades seem slightly to our favour, if anything.

...BUT two young players for a pick that is basically a crap-shoot? I will not believe that until it's offical. If true, it could easily become a trade of historically bad proportions. Fremantle-esque.

A couple of years ago, didn't Roos himself talk about how after the first ten picks or so--there's no real increased statistical chance to getting a decent player--than in later rounds? i.e. Pick 20 = Pick 40 effectively. Or was that just a rationalisation because at the time it was suggested that we had paid over the odds for Jolly?

i'm ok with the fact that we have to lose them but we got nothing in return - whoever we pick with 26 better be damned good!!!

hmmmmmm next season will be very very interesting to see if any of this has paid off ...

Schneider and Dempster off to St Kilda for pick 26.

Henry Playfair coming to Sydney for pick 44.Roosy feels he will settle in well as he went to school with RLT and is a Sydney boy.
