Obviously im annoyed and want to hurt Roosy, because of this.

But, i guess it had to be done, and all we can do is hope this all works out for '08.

Then it'll all be worth it

I guess this is the flow-on effect from signing players like Everitt. If you push up the salary levels at the top end, players will be squeezed out at the end of the season. Considering he'll be gone in a year, losing young players is a hell of a price to pay.

Strange that he got dropped after the WCE game which was his most prolific for a while.

I think he had real potential and I think while our previous discards have done nothing at other clubs, I think he may be the one to hurt us.

Bit indifferent to Schneider leaving, but I wish we could punt Jude too.
Reading the Adelaide site, they say that Mattner's problems this year arose because he was played as a defender.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

I'm a bit annoyed that we've given away two young premiership players for pick 26 in a weak draft.

However, it means we will see a couple more new faces in the side next year.

Personally I think this is the flow on from signing Jolly. There was no talk of this prior to then and I wish Jolly had gone instead as he obviously really wanted to go to Melbourne. I am very disappointed at losing Schneider, would rather have traded Jude or Buchanon.

I keep going to the AFL website to see if this is true....it's daylight saving here so I have been up for hours whilst those inconsiderate people are just arriving at the trade table...the suspense is killing me.

There is still nothing on the trade tracker about the trade, or the swans site for that matter.

I just hope that Buchanan continues to improve his kicking in 2008 and becomes a break-away goal kicker (which is what Schneider was in the team for really).

Although I suppose if Schneider had of run harder in games and gotten fitter it would of been Buchanan on the way out.

I think Schneider will do well at the Saints (provided he is committed to succeeding). This trade could come back to bite us - but there is risk in everything - including doing nothing. I liked having Dempster in the team (because of the Father/Son history), but I think we will be a better team without him.

HAS THIS TRADE ACTUALLY BEEN CONFIRMED?

Any chance it won't go ahead?

If, as has been suggested, we need room on the list, hence why Roos gave away Dempster, then why not "give away" McVeigh, Mathews, Bevan..that actually would of made sense

Firstly the other team has to want them, so that rules out Matthews.

McVeigh has more upside than Dempster who has been given an opportunity and seen other players go ahead of him.

As for Bevan, yes he has limitations but he does get a dirty job done most of the time locking down the oppositions dangerous small forwards. So he is kept for back-up in these situations.
