I came up to Sydney for the game against Collingwood at ANZ earlier in the season and one of the things I wanted to do was get to the curtain raiser to see some of the youngsters(especially Orreall and Murphy), after watching most of the game, and Veszpremi play, my thoughts were..."this kids ready to play seniors". Looks like I was not wrong.Comment

Got back to Melbourne this morning after weekend of work and the footy.
Dont want to bang on about Scooter but back in February in "Young Guns"
thread I said on here Paddy will be gold.
Once he gets a fitness base behind him, pretty much like Trent Cotchin he will be a mighty fine player for us. Known him for years, hes a good kid and will make his mark with the club.
The bonus with Paddy is his friendship with Brett Meridith as well and I can tell you right now he isnt far behind him either.Est 1874

Goodes and O'Keefe for Ablett and Jack I expect. Jack was much better this week but genuine line breakers and goal kickers in Moore and Vespa must stay in. Their finishing puts them in front of Jack. Ablett is a no brainer.Comment

Very hard one to pick.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

Crouch would be on the edge as well I suspect. He's more likely to be left out than Jack, Moore or Vespa if Roos' promise to give the youngsters finals experience is to be believed."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

The area North have a real edge over us is footspeed. Wells and Harvey through the middle. Campbell and Thomas and - if he's fit- Harding up forward. Crouch maybe past his best as a tagger and Jack still learning the caper but I don't think we can afford to go into the team without our two quickest little blokes.
Not sure how anyone can even suggest Moore might get the axe. In what was a pretty even and, at times, scratchy performance against the Lions, Moore was the absolute standout and not just for his goals. He may look exhausted moments after the first bounce but on Saturday night that didn't stop him busting his gut to get to contests all around the ground. His effort to make up ground on Sherman - who is pretty quick - and then force Sherman to take the ball to the boundary up in the Lions' forward line was one of the best plays of the night.Comment

You're right, how could I forget Crouch. Judging by what people say about how he performed after the game it could be a real possiblity.Comment

What Bam_Bam and I wrote wasn't a suggestion that he was going to be dropped, just a suggestion that he looked like he may be bidding farewell, as in retirement and we wouldn't see him at the SCG again.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment
