Who cares if Cousins smoked some crack!
He has made it very clear that getting high doesnt effect his game he still dominates and if he is over it he will still probably be a pretty handy player
The media in Sydney wont be all over it like they would be in Melbourne or WA.
We came 5th this year with the additoin of Cousins and some more improvement form the likes of Moore, Beavan, Jack, Bird, Vez and Mal we could have a really good year. Everyone writes us off every year who says we cant have a realy crack in 09 with Cousins some of the people on here sound less like fans and more like Melbourne media.

give me some of what you are on uglyduckling. If you cant see that we are a long way behind Hawthorn, Geelong, the Dogs and probably Collingwood, plus with Carlton well and truly back on the right track (Will challenge for the 4 next year imo), then you arent looking hard enough. There is nothing to stop us having a good year like this year and making the 2nd week of the finals or even with a lot of luck a prelim, but imo we simply can not win the premiership with our list at its current level. And we can have a real 'crack' in 09 with out importing a crackhead in Cousins into the team anyway.

Its all good to think we are 1 'superstar' away from being awesome again, but sadly its far from the case imo.

Two sides to every coin, BC talks the talk pretty well, speaking as a person who has been in recovery a lot longer than he has, he sounds good and looks healthy. Everyone deserves a chance and if he's fit enuf to go another couple years why not. I can't see how he would get a three strikes option, he's already had them, so a morals clause in his contract would be a standard thing anyway and the drug testers would be following him around all over the place I would imagine. He does bring class but will he be the same player? It's a big gamble and I would rather gamble in the draft with some youth that we can develop, which we do pretty well.

He's a head case, I wouldn't touch him with a 40 foot barge pole. All this talk about him teaching our young players is a lot of garbage, you have to have the persona and personal skills to do that.

Yeh he can teach our young players a few things Nico,but no doubt it will be the wrong things.

Nico he was banned for bringing the game into disrepute,so IMO he cant start off with a clean slate like the AFLPA say he should get.He should get a 1 @@@@ up and your gawn for good never to play any football at any club any where in Australia.

If the Pies passed on him there must be some thing up.

He had a PI following him around in Perth who was hired by the Pies.They have spoken to the cheif of police in Victoria and most likely she said he was to high a risk.Also the Pies have had to much troublwe with players in the last few years so why would they really want another trouble maker.

Im feel sorry for you that you feel that way. Have fun for the next 4 next season with the attitude that we are no chance.
While your watching the game thinking about how crap we are and how far we are from a premiership being a 'realist' I will be looking at the positives having faith that the boys can improve and hoping that we win.
I do honestly believe that we can improve from last year, with Goodes back in the midfield and now McVeigh really proving himself to be a good player and who knows he may improve enough to be a brownlow contender. There are a few people on here who would at the begining of the season have thought it more likely that we win the flag than McVeigh win the best and fairest.
I believe that we are always a chance and i will enjoy next season lookig at the positives while you can write infinite posts about how crap we are and write the next 4 years off.

Look at the overall picture with lack of work (football), desertion of sponsors and overall earning capacity, public humiliation and loss of friends and I'd say he paid a pretty hefty price considering what he did wasn't harming anyone but himself.

You could say that his actions have encouraged some of his easily led fans, but you could also say that the public profile has in fact greatly deterred others from taking the same road.

He has brought shame to him self,friends and family with his actions.
His actions dont deter people they encourage people to do the same because he wast punished enough.Why do you think that our jails are over flowing because the punishments dont deter people at all.
