Why would anyone want a grub like Cousins at the club?
I do not think the Cousins would be a good pick up for the Swans at the moment, so do not want him at the club. 2 years ago (without the benefit of hindsight) absolutely, but, taking into account age and injury, not any more. Given his diminished ability as a footballer, the baggage he would bring is not worth it either.

However, I am afraid that it is you connolly that has had his view of facts skewed sideways by a moral squint. The type of drugs that Cousins has admitted to using are not performance enhancing. There is no evidence that he used any drugs to enhance on field performance at all. He was supremely fit and a very talented footballer who has never tested positive to an AFL drug test. Your lack of knowledge of drugs and their effects combined with your prejudice against recreational drug use (not to mention you prejudice against anything not Captain Kirk endorsed) has blurred your vision.

Go in bare feet Nico. Feet are easier to wash than shoes.

i think we have been here before:
        1. amphetimines are performance enhancing; and
        2. Cousins ended up addicted to amphetimine

i am astonished that this old rope that Cousins was just a party boy who abused recreational drugs that had no affect on his sporting performance can be continually recycled through forums such as this. As for the AFL drug testing you are having a laugh right?

In the AFL's eyes any illicit drug is a performance enhancing drug.

BTW theres nothing wrong with the occasional joint.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

So, in your opinion, is the AFL drug testin regime corrupt or simply inadequate?

He would have fitted in nicely into your midfield.

Inadequate. If that "regime"was used in the sport of noble four legged animals that are thrashed around a track by little criminals, the punters would rightly be storming the stewards room. Lets consider this analogy. A horse wins the Melbourne Cup in a finish that is tighter than Garry Jack's wallet. Its connections are strongly suspected by the smart money of giving its charges a touch up of prohibited medicinal assistance. But the stewards simply don't test for the substance strongly suspected to be placed in the nose bag of the conveyance. The stewards apparently have spoken to the nag's connections and they have assured the nark's that everythings sweet. The stewards announce this to the seething masses with the arse out of their strides in the betting ring. Booing can be heard in Broadmeadows.

Absolutely he would be amazing for us. Anyone else who thinks otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about. Drugs? Bad behaviour? So what. Get a grip. That's his problem not ours. This guy's a champion and if an AFL club wants to win games they'd be mad not to get this bloke for a couple of years.

And I don't believe all this "he's got to fit in" and "no dickheads policy" stuff. There is no "no dickheads" policy. That's a con. There's dickheads there at the Swans - bound to be. It's a footy club !! It's just our condescending media haven't sniffed them out and exposed them.

This issue is one of the reasons I'm re-thinking whether I re-new membership next year. The game is soft. The rules are soft. Players are soft. Seriously, what's happened to footy??

Cousins addiction was obvious prior to the 2006 Grand Final. So much so that even his morally challenged coach noticed.

So the coach has questioned the legitimacy of the win (and had a few dollars on it?). Things are crook in the west.

We got you there. An accurate statement at last. Yes things are (and were) really crook out west.

You wouldn't want to touch him with a barge pole. The Wobbles had a private investigator follow him, now if they have ruled him out..... something is up. Plus nothing seems to have changed in way of company he keeps.....

While your watching the game thinking about how crap we are and how far we are from a premiership being a 'realist' I will be looking at the positives having faith that the boys can improve and hoping that we win.
I do honestly believe that we can improve from last year, with Goodes back in the midfield and now McVeigh really proving himself to be a good player and who knows he may improve enough to be a brownlow contender. There are a few people on here who would at the begining of the season have thought it more likely that we win the flag than McVeigh win the best and fairest.
I believe that we are always a chance and i will enjoy next season lookig at the positives while you can write infinite posts about how crap we are and write the next 4 years off.
                                Enjoy next season.
i don't think he was being pessimistic, just being a realist as you said, you cannot always be at the top
