If it were Goodesy I would have committed suicide a long time ago!!
Annie, sorry to spoil your fun (cos you're a mate), but there is no evidence that he took drugs "in sport" as you put it. No positive drugs tests, just an admission that he had a drugs problem.

The admission is the equivalent to a positive test. And in many sports what he was using is regarded as performance enhancing because of the benefits it delivers in training.

The Eagles knew what was going on with Cousins and others re drugs in 2007 (cite Ken Judge) and swept it under the carpet and took their premiership and ran. They'd still be doing it if Cousins and his mates hadn't got into so many unsavoury situations outside of footy.

The AFL-commissioned report on the Eagles has never been made public and from what I heard on the radio recently from an Eagle's official it will never be released by the AFL. Maybe its publishing would force the AFL to make a decision they don't want to face.

        What Big Cat said ...

The admission is the equivalent to a positive test.
Why the hell would you admit to taking drugs and go through all the @@@@ he's put himself through if you are not guilty of taking drugs????
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

AFL players should be banned from drinking or banned from the sport for ever

You can't do that until "drinking" becomes illegal for the rest of society, just like "drugs" are.

Maybe so, but not in the AFL, so that is a moot point.

Or the 70's when a bent Tasmanian playing for the Carlton crims toked up a shlook of the old Bob Marley before taking the paddock against the Mayblooms. According to his herb smoked memoir he soared like Coleman and kicked four goals in the first quarter. And spent the next three kickless, wasted and idyllically pondering the red rattlers that pulled into Glenferrie station. His coach who later had a stint at the Bloods was apparently mystified.

It's amazing how people make a distinction between "drugs" and "alcohol". Exactly what do people think alcohol is? Go visit the wet brain ward at Rozelle Hospital and tell me alcohol is ok for anybody!!! The fact that the government makes so much money from the sale of Alcohol is ridiculous. If heroin was controlled and was two dollars a pop, would we have the same problems today? Or would people get stoned and nod off in the corner somewhere. Keith Richards once said Heroin problem? I have millions of dollars, theres no problem. Make anything affordable reduces the problem. Ask prison warders which drug they prefer the prisoners to be on, not too many will say alcohol, releases the monster inside people that is otherwise hidden, bit like Amphetamine does. Blah, Blah, blah

Apparently until it is illegal in law you can have as much as you want and still be a role model.

Hope some club still picks up Cuz one way or the other so all character debates aside we can see where his footy capacity is at

Latest news on 3AW is that Essendon is a likely drafter of Benny boy (Cousins not Matthews)

Herion is not a good example. I haven't heard of too many cases where someone's smoked a joint then gone home and belted the wife ... yet I've heard of way too many where that's happened after a few too many drinks (or after a few weeks on ICE). All "drugs" alter your "perception" (for want of a better word). I know happy drunks, I know violent drunks. I know happy and successful herion addicts and I know sad and truly down and out "junkies".

It's legal to drink alcohol in this country provided you are over the age of 18. If you are driving a car, you are still allowed, say, two drinks before going over "the limit" (over a night, if you will, full licenced driver). Anything above "the limit", and you are driving, you are breaking the law - not for being drunk, but for operating a vehicle over the prescribed limit of alcohol.
