There are a few intelligent posts that look at the coaching, there are some that identify problems to be fixed and there are crazy people, who no doubt think people always follow them in the street, who are screaming abuse about any wrong they have ever felt.

    Aside from the first post there is no "slagging all and sundry connected to the club." (Unless I missed something really bad on my skim back through. )

      If you think their coaching is crap then I think it's reasonable to say it. My point was simply that the original post was right on the time that the game ended so I think it's understandable for someone to throw a tantrum.
      I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
      We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

        The rule has been created with Hall. If you don't suit the suits youre gorn. Loyalty means SFA at the club now.

          How about you converse with your fellow supporter without calling them all IDIOTS...that's what they do at Richmond.
          Good to see you support a vigorous debate between supporters of the club. If someone puts forward a view thats unacceptable, into the ute and given the arse.

            So you reckon that if Roos had said to Hall at half time Hally, you big palooka (Roosey talks like that) get out of the ute, strip down you are playing with Magic, Hall would have said "No mate I might hang one on someone. The duty of care weighs heavily on my conscience." Hall would have if given a chance, found a convenient phone box, changed into the No. 1, ripped through the bombers defense, kicked six and probably put the serial tripper and flying elbows merchant Fletcher over the fence with a hip and shoulder (shades of Plugger) for good measure. That is absolutely hilarious on a number of counts mate. The common stereotype surrounding Richmond fans is not that they bag out other fans.

                  Richmond fans turn on the club, the coach, the players and the administrators when the expectations are not met. Which is EXACTLY what is happening here.

                  Secondly, I haven't called anyone here an idiot. In fact, it is pretty obvious that some of the RWOers that i'm directing my 'sanctimonious posts', as you call them, at are very intelligent people - just ask them!

                  You call "sack the coach" a sound suggestion for fixing the club? I say that's rubbish. Paul Roos stood up in 2003 and outlined a plan to deliver a premiership to the Swans. Something no other coach could do in 72 years. And, he delivered with what has been widely regarded as a list that, on paper, was not at the same standard talent-wise as premiership-winning teams preceding or following it. In fact it was widely regarded as a list that would not deliver a finals berth.

                  This bloke was not a passenger on some free ride to glory as suggested in the OP (possibly sarcastically as it turns out). He is a master of his trade and suggesting that he be sacked for not getting a team in transition over the line against one of the season's big improvers is ludicrous at best.

                    It was the worst week we've had under Roos, but surely not quite time to sack him.

                    You have to judge the coach on his record - not what you think his record might be in the future, or his record last Saturday.

                    On the AFL pendulum, the Swans are pretty well where you'd expect them to be. Going back over the past decade:
                    Essendon had their golden period of 1999-2001 - they haven't played finals since 2004;
                    The Lions were at their peak 2001-2004 - haven't played finals since;
                    Port have rebuilt since their 2004 flag;
                    West Coast (remember the 'dynasty') imploded after their flag.

                    Our peak was 2005-06, and we played in finals in 07-08. Apart from the Lions our record is as good any club over the past ten years.

                    Roos has agreed to stay for another three years to help the rebuilding. The club is apparently happy -- they signed the contract, and I haven't seen board members resigning in disgust.

                    Coaches are always going to be under pressure. How many headlines have we seen about Micky Malthouse and the Magpies? This year the Pies are redhot and they still haven't yet renewed his contract.

                    If sacking the coach is the response after one bad game, what do you do after the next shocker?

                    Also, remember this is the worst part of the whole cycle. We' losing games we would have won a year ago and the new kids haven't yet put their stamp on the team.

                      Doesn't surprise me that you're unable to stop as it's painstaking clear that you fall into the group of people you're crusading against. I'm sure you consider yourself "very intelligent"...if only someone would ask.

                      The Richmond dig was to include the post after yours - not as a reflection on the RFC or the Swans. I thought the and the fact I wrote IDIOTS in all caps helped make that clear...apparently not.

                      I don't suggest sack the coach - noone has suggested sack the coach (aside from the OP). You can write, but not read...not a good combination. I've even posted in this thread "I think Paul Roos is an excellent coach."...too subtle?

                      Thanks, you've put me in my place. Goodluck with the rest of RWO.

                        You reckon I'm delusional (fantasies I'll own up to but not delusions, fantasies are fun, delusions are misbelief) so what would you say of Roos latest pronouncement from the bunker. Leo Barry to the forward line. Yes folks seven seasons after he failed as a forward, in the rebuilding phase of the club, after booting a champion forward, the master coach switches Leaping Leo Barry to the forward line!

                        Roos waves the white flag on season '09 - RFNews - realfooty.com.au

                        Fantasy or delusion?

                        As for filling the void left by Barry Hall, Swans fans could see the old and the new in coming weeks, with 21-year-old Jesse White, who kicked 12 goals in the seconds on Saturday to go with his eight the previous week, and 32-year-old Leo Barry expected to be used in the forward line in coming weeks.

                        Barry has already declared this will be his final season, and is getting closer to playing after recovering from pre-season knee surgery. Roos said he was a "a viable option as forward to finish off
                        ".

                        He's not waving he's drowning.

                            I am pretty certain Hall would have played sat if he was asked. I've little doubt he would have loved a send off with the team - his emotion was like all players - miss their mates and the club and all aspects of being a footballer.

                            that says nothing about whether he was pushed or jumped.

                            and for what it is worth i reckon he was pushed.

                              The little problem of the suspension makes that unlikely.
