You can't blame the cattle for the coaching decisions.
The main bones for me are:
1. I assume Roos had a game plan for beating the Bombers. This plan included McVeigh and didn't include Pyke, meaning he was going to play with one ruckman. McVeigh didn't make it through the warm-up, so was replaced moments before the game, a midfielder for a ruckman, presumably completely changing the gameplan. How did this effect the team structure and the individual players? I don't think Roos asked himself this question.
2. LRT and Richards forward. Shocker of a choice. There was a thread last week discussing the possible forward line options for next year with Hall and MOL. Had anyone discussed this as an option they would have been absolutely taken apart. There was a multitude of options available to Roos and I don't understand why this was the choice.
3. The midfield. As posted previously lacks application. Don't know if it's Roos or the midfield coach - but they don't appear to be playing as cohesively as in the past. What's changed?
4. The perserverance with the old group when we have youngsters who have shown ability. Why weren't they given an extended run? Why was Ablett selected? Hopefully this will no longer be the case.
I think Paul Roos is an excellent coach. I don't think his support staff is as good as it once was.
