But your post indicated that clearly Goodes should be dropped. Maybe I misread it, but it read pretty clear to me. So, who should be dropped then? Name names.

I agree sick of reading about season over. They gave it everything today and only came up short by 2 points. Considering Shaw missed we easily could of won and that is what I look at. 5 wins 5 losses is not desperate and 12-16 place on ladder. We are better than last year and will give it a real good shake after the break. Mumford and O'Dwyer great contributors today - what about when we get Bradshaw, Bolton, Seaby, Kennelly and McGlynn - different team again and will still have 8 10 games to show we are definitely a top 8 team.

        Ok, another armchair expert.

I was saying that Goodes has 100476905 million points in the bag - 1 average game and some people tee off.

If every player got 11 kicks, 2 hand ball and 9 marks like Adam Goodes did today we would have won easily. All these TV supporters, just because he didnt kick straight. he is not a forward.

Yeah Mac, thankfully we have some clear thinkers on this site.

Talking about forgetting the words to the song - did you see Geelong player Kelly so bored with singing their song - feined his bordeom by sleeping on shoulder of another Geelong player - hope they dive soon - they are so smug. Swans to beat Geelong in the second half of the season at ANZ - Kelly you are a loser for being stuck up smug.

Always disappointing to lose the close ones. I felt that if we could have hit the front at some stage in the 2nd or last quarters it would change the mindset of the Hawks and the game. Unfortunately, we kept failing to to do so.

Having said that, the effort was much better than in the previous 3 losses.

Cracking game of footy - tough and hard like it should be played. We looked like we are - a young team learning the game with some old boys struggling to make it to the finish line. Plenty to like - Dan's a superstar; Jack and Kennedy are the Kirk and Bolton of the next generation; plenty of nice work from Jetta and Rohan as well. And let's not forget Nick Smith's job on Hodge. I'm happy with that effort and will be even happier with a home ground win against the Bombers next week.

Listening to the game here in soggy Germany. I thought we were in with a chance. But it didn't happen. Then I came on here and I thought we must have been playing the Tigers and we were down 70 points. Rather, today's game was two decimated teams going at it hard. Frustrating to lose but the negativity here is amazing - why hasn't anyone been calling for Heath's contract to be torn up? It sounds like, when we had the momentum he cost us the game. Or maybe we just lost a game we could have won. It happens.

Sounds like Playfair and Pike did well and Mummy had a blinder.

Ah, the glass half empty brigade r on song now that our boys great effort was popped at the post by the slightly better ffort showed by the hawks. Were they supposed to lie down so we could win. Would be nice, but credit to the hawks for withstanding the final lunge to the line. I am glass half full, and am reminded of the bombers player on fri night who said they were aiming to b 5 and 5 at this point. The finals r not next week and there r enough games left to get back in the eight. Plenty of positives, including Henry, but biggest plus is the youngsters.
Patterns emerge, but do they mean anything? No.

We are a mid-level side, and at full strength, definitely a finals side at the very least.

As for White, so depite the fact that he was our most productive forward, you "just don't rate his game". He also only gave away ONE free kick. He was great today, and it will have given him a lot of confidence.
hence why we are flat track bullies.

Yeah i don't rate White, needs to do more especially with no bradshaw and not just in 1 game. or 1/4 of a game.

Anyone going to give Kennedy a wrap? I thought he was outstanding , along with Most of the youngsters except for Jetta, who i agree now it's time he had a rest in the two's. Bring TDL in for him.

White played his best game for the year why would you drop him ?

It's our experienced guys letting us down. Maybe some head have to roll there.

Overall a good effort for us all things considered, it's our first game at the G all year, running into Hawthorn at pretty much full strength on thier favourite ground, missing key players from the side, Key players on the field missing.

You are quoting the wrong person mate. Never mentioned one player in this thread. Just replied to you RE: board sacking a coach, you were talking with Kirkysocks from memory.

goodes didnt even have a bad game. 6 shots a goal is productive as a deep forward he just didnt have the kicking boots on. Had he kicked 3.3 or 4.2 we would be saying how good he was. But i agree goodes out barlow in.

oh so we are not allowed to critique the game today?

should we all just sit here and clap the behinds and give the players a standing ovation everytime they lose, just like at the SCG?
