And Pyke named at CHF - wonder what that signifies?
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I would love to see both Jetta and Rohan playing this weekend, using their pace on the MCG. Rohan's versatility is something to consider but he has been out with an injury. I guess that means Meredith isn't completely safe.

I think Meredith is completely safe. They have to bring one player into the team but I can see no justification for bringing in two, and dropping a player who has looked pretty comfortable and performed very credibly in his two games.

Reid named in 25-man squad - Official AFL Website of the Sydney Swans Football Club

Sounds like it's down to Jetta or TDL in Roos's mind.

Stating the bleeding obvious but it shows how far down the pecking order Veszpremi is at the moment. If he can't crack it on that bench in that line-up then there is clearly some serious strife happening behind the scenes.

I have given up expecting him to be at the club next year. If he doesn't ask for a trade the club will probably be asking around on his behalf anyway.

              Agree.

Maybe there's an injury - otherwise it's a question if Horse has a plan for him.

                Yep, it's really frustrating me.

The kid obviously has skills and talent. Just bloody let him have a crack for a few games.
It would be a sad moment for the club to allow a player (a 1st round pick at that) to leave without actually allowing him to properly show his wares at senior level.

I believe he's the sort of guy that would explode onto the scene when he adapts to senior level and gets his confidence up.
Would only take a handful of games in a row.

Absolutely nothing. Just wait for the start of the game to see all the positional changes to that that have been made.
On another note Vezpremi not named in starting line up. That to me has more signification. To what I don't know, can only speculate.

i dont get the vesz hype... he obviously isn't showing the required commitment at the club which includes preparation and discipline, i don't think it is an injury thing, i think it's a fitness and mental thing.

                    thing.

Maybe he has secretly been drinking GWS Koolaid and Roos has cracked it...

I am so pleased for Reid (The Weed). Toldyers he was going to get a gig but I thought would be next year. Huge great big enormous (tautalism) YAY from me. And probably from ORB and BBB. We like him as a Swan.

Interchange from: Dennis-Lane, Hannebery, Jetta, Meredith, Rohan, Reid, White

I hope Jetta doesn't get a run - he looks good but can't tackle and doesn't dispose of the ball very well

I concur Primmy with your sentiments. Reid is pretty special.
A lovely young bloke and a very promising prospect. Great to see him named.

Vez has some of the best guns since Davo.

                              Spot the selection trend?!

Before the conspiracy theorists fire up, maybe we can take Dew on face value and someone who follows the reserves can tell us if the reserves named can play more game time than Vez? We may need 22 players, not 21.5.

Also, if Roos thought Reid deserves a seniors run this year, this'd be the one to do it - not next week.
